To open the Google I / O 2021 there is Google Workspac and, once known by the name G Suite . The idea behind Workspace is to offer an integrated workspace that can be easily shared with your colleagues . Given the increase in remote working due to the pandemic, Google has worked hard to make its business platform even more flexible, interactive and intelligent.
Several new features are on the way between now and the end of 2021 . Google has shown twelve of them, some arriving within a few days. The goal of each of them is to make the main Workspace services, such as Google Meet and Documents, even more interconnected. Here is the complete list of those that will debut on Workspace in the coming months
- @ mentioni – Actually it is already possible to mention people for example in emails. With an upcoming update, mentions will show additional information about the tagged person, such as job title, contact information, location, and more. Google also speaks of a “smart chip”, that is a system of mentions via @ that will automatically include the most suitable people for that particular document, meeting or content.
- Documents without pages : you can create documents without page limitation, with a single surface where to integrate images, tables and so on. It will also be adaptable to the screen, a bit like a dynamic web page. If you need to print it in PDF, the document will automatically adapt by dividing everything into pages.
- Reaction Emoji in Google Docs – You can add reactions to documents!
- Suggestions for inclusive language – The writing assistant will suggest any recommendations to make writing more inclusive. Examples are given in English (mail carrier instead of mailman), we need to see how it will be adapted in other languages.
- Notes on the meeting in Google Documents – With a new template for Google Docs, it will be possible to integrate the information relating to the meeting directly into the file
- Checkboxes connected in Google Docs – Already this week there will be checklists integrated in Docs. It will also be possible to assign checkbox objects to colleagues, so that colleagues can see what is assigned in Google Tasks.

- Google Meet integration – You can work on a document during a video call on Google Meet . The GIF below perfectly shows the functionality. While you are working on a document, you can start a conference on Google Meet without interrupting the drafting of the document itself.
