A new research by Comscore has shed light on the relationship of Italians with the internet , returning a picture that shows how internet use has increased by users residing in our country since the beginning of the pandemic.
Compared to March 2020 in fact, more Italians spend at least 3 hours a day on the internet. Currently this share amounts to 74% , of which 31 million users visit web content relating to health , while approximately 21 million surf content government and institutional .
Visits to news sites are slightly up compared to last year, while about 97% of Italian users who use the internet make use of social networks . In numerical terms, the share of users on social networks stands at well 38.8 million and is up compared to last year. Likewise, the use of instant messaging platforms and visits to content related to sport have grown.
In terms of time spent online , Italians spent more on average time on the internet than last year, with a growth of 3% . Focusing on the mobile sector, where 82% of total internet visits take place, the growth in browsing time increases to 8% .
Other good results were highlighted for sites that sell online and for entertainment platforms : Spotify (+105 %), Sky Italia (+ 32%) and PrimeVideo (+ 310%) grow sharply for the time spent, while Shein (+ 717%) , Zalando (+ 89%) grow for the online sales sector. Note of merit for Vinted, which is the first retail app in Italy for average time spent per visitor.
