Spotify finally aligns the listening experience from Web Player and desktop apps

With a post on the official website Spotify announces the release of a series of changes in the appearance and functionality of its player from the web and via the desktop app. As those who jump from one to the other frequently have noticed as far as basic functions and overall feel are common to the two interfaces, there are subtle discrepancies that in some cases limit the user experience.

The desktop app actually started as the original window on the world of Spotify , so the company has spent a lot of time and resources to consider the new adjustments, all studied and tested thanks to the user feedback. The redesign therefore involves the arrival of some previously absent functions, but above all it lays the foundations at a technical level for the developments in the coming years .

Soon you will notice that the two platforms will offer a unique and coherent experience , in particular a new home will arrive on the desktop with greater ease of access to contents of your library, creating playlists will be easier thanks to the drag & drop and the integrated search function , while Premium subscribers will be able to download music and podcasts for listening offline. You can see the complete video of the announcement directly on the official page.
