That Google is intolerant in terms of messaging applications is now known. In fact, we are no longer surprised by the frequency with which new services are opened and closed: we remember Hangouts , Google +, Allo , Google Spaces and we could go on and on. The change that sees it personally affected today, however, could be interesting: according to the rumors released by 9to5Google, it seems that the company at the head of the largest search engine in the world is in fact working on the creation of a single environment of work that allows to integrate the services Gmail , Hangout and Meet .

At the moment it appears that standalone applications will persist , while Google Chat will test this new integration in the web interface. To date, in fact, this is only available for paid customers of Workspace , while personal accounts will be able to log in if invited to participate in a conversation. At the moment, the interface shows a side drawer with Chat pinnate, single or group, Rooms for video calls and Bots . Only the selected conversation will be shown on the right, in line with the chat UI standards, and it will be possible to minimize it in a new dock at the bottom of the page.

The new graphics of Google Chat web is still in the roll-out phase , so it may still take some time before it becomes available to all companies, but let's assume that Google is stalling with the intent to move personal accounts from Hanogout to Chat first.
