Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro review, confirmation of an excellent product

HomeMacityAudio / Video / TV / Streaming Soundcore is a brand that, over the years, has been able to earn the trust of users, presenting products with an excellent value for money and actually representing a valid alternative for those looking for quality earphones, with premium features, but keeping an eye on the wallet. Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro is the direct successor of the second generation, which we have reviewed at this address. Without upsetting the good it had done, this third version has several improvements. Here's how our test went.

The packaging

First of all, Soundcore has given great importance to the packaging. Unboxing is pleasant, not only for the quality of the pack, but above all for what is inside. First of all, 4 pairs of silicone rubber tips, of different sizes and that will be able to adapt well to any ear. Choosing the right size will serve to obtain complete isolation, as well as to better secure the earphones inside the ear cup. In any case, if you really want to anchor them to the ear, so as to ensure an optimal grip even during the race, always in the package there are 4 silicone fins, optional, which allow the headset to remain in place even more strongly. Inside the package, of course, in addition to the earphones, there is also the charging case. This has significantly improved compared to the second model, and above all solves one of the main problems that we had reported in the previous review: the dimensions. In this case, in fact, the case is significantly smaller, and even the plastics used look better. Surely the sliding system that opens the case is lighter, of better workmanship, and the case maintains the possibility of wireless charging of the predecessor, as well as the connectivity, always USB C type. How they are made

Let's start with the design and the form factor . The entire headset retains the elongated button shape of the previous model, but reduces its overall size. If Liberty Pro 2 could have been larger than the norm, this third revision dwarfs the overall aesthetics. Not that much, just that it was to make them even more comfortable when wearing them.

If Liberty 2 Pro were already comfortable, these Liberty 3 Pro are even more comfortable. As already mentioned, the great variety of silicone rubber pads, to which is also added the assortment of fins, makes it impossible not to find the right one. setup: they are safely inside the pavilion, they do not tend to fall even without the fins, but with the latter they are welded practically inside the auricle, so as not to have to fear their fall even when running.

As for the control, this time Soundcore has opted for a touch control, without the presence of physical buttons on each ear cup. There seems to be a better solution than the previous one, where it was difficult to locate the small buttons. Liberty 3 Pro, on the other hand, allows you to control music playback and calls, as well as change the listening mode, between transparency and ANC, simply by one or two touches, or by prolonged tap on the ear cup. Also, in this third version, Soundcore introduced automatic pause when removing the earphones from the ears.

How they work

With the Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro we are talking about Bluetooth 5 headsets. From the point of view of pairing, they therefore work exactly like any other product based on this technology, even if over time Soundcore has managed to improve it. In the very first earphones of the company we noticed that it was easy to run into pairing difficulties, especially when you wanted to pair them with a new device. Recensione Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro

In this version, however, we have not encountered any kind of problem: it is sufficient to open the case, without touching the earphones, to start the pairing mode. Also missing is a reset button on the back of the charging case, which allows you to perform a manual pairing, in case the automatic one does not work.

How they sound

We had already awarded the Liberty 2 Pro, and we continue to do so in this third revision as well. The “wow” effect that characterized the previous edition is missing, but not because these sound bad, but only because we already expected an excellent quality level.

The basses continue to amaze, never exaggerated or built but well balanced and well present, without distortions or excesses. It is probably thanks to the oversized 10.6 mm driver, which gives power to the lower frequencies in a not indifferent way, and which add a quality imprint to the sound, which leaves all the headphones in this price range that we have in the dust. tried.Recensione Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro

The resulting sound is always clean, both as regards the human voice and as regards the musical instruments, which are represented in a truly faithful way, with the details of each really rich.

It continues to be excellent insulation from the outside, which impressively approach what can be achieved with over the ear headphones.

Soundcore and ANC application

The Soundcore application is the same that we find for the combination of the other audio devices of the company, even if in this case there are some customizations due to the type of headset, for example those relating to active noise cancellation.

It is possible to set the playback mode, between ANC, normal and transparency also from the app, as well as by means of the touch controls. To tell the truth, we often used the app to manage the various modes, because otherwise – through a simple tap – we didn't notice which mode was inserted. This makes it clear, on the one hand, that there does not seem to be such a marked difference between the different listening modes, even if a more attentive ear will not fail to perceive those small nuances that exist between the different listening modes.

Recensione Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro It is possible to customize the soft touch controls At very high volume the transparency mode did not seem too obvious, while both the normal mode, but especially the ANC, allow you to better isolate yourself from the outside. During a test with train noise in the background, we were able to sensitively perceive the difference between ANC on and off, with the noise reduction system working really well. Moreover, two different ANC modes are available through the app: manual and adaptive. The second optimizes the ANC level based on ambient noise. Also in this case we were able to test them in a rather noisy environment, such as the domestic one when washing machines or vacuum cleaners are in operation. With the adaptive ANC mode, in fact, we noticed a noticeable improvement as the ambient background noise was increasing. Recensione Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro

Present the equalizer cn which you can optimize the Anker Soundcore 3 Pro to any musical genre or to your tastes. As if this were not enough, the HearID technology is also present, which thanks to a test of just over 5 minutes, allows you to perfectly adjust the earphones to the physiological differences of the users.

The Soundcore app analyzes the user's hearing profile and intelligently creates a suitable sound setting. To do this, for each earphone it sends sounds of different intensity, and the user must keep the pressure until the noise is perceived, releasing the finger in case the noise is no longer perceived.

In our case, after setting up the HearID profile, we didn't notice a particular change in the sound profile. Maybe because the default profile was similar to the result of our HearID profile.

Different speech, however, for the equalizer, which includes many different sound profiles, each of which emphasizes a particular musical genre or particular notes. In this case, all the different profiles offer the user distinct audio facets: the user will certainly find the one that suits his ear and the song he is listening to.

Call quality

It will be thanks to the six integrated microphones, but for the first time our interlocutor told us to hear our voice in optimal motion. Likewise, the voice that reached our ear via earphones was absolutely crystal clear, lively and perky. Excellent, therefore, also for telephone conversations. Recensione Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro

Autonomy and recharge

As for the previous ones, the manufacturer declares about 8 hours of playback on a single charge. It is clear that this data is really changing, depending on how the earphones are used, between volume and different modes. However, we managed to get close to this result, stopping at about 6.5 hours and a half of use. In any case, we don't think this is an aspect to dwell on too much: with the charging case you get to over 30 hours of use. Basically, you will never run out of water.

Conclusions

We had quite high expectations considering the € 149.99 price list. We have far exceeded all expectations. The Liberty Pro 2 are among the absolute best competitors of the AirPods. Suitable for those who love basses, and for those who use them even during sports. Even at the cost of being repetitive we say it in conclusion: these earphones sound beautifully well and satisfy from every point of view, especially in relation to the cost. It is probably impossible to find anything that sounds as good at the same cost at the moment.
