Despite the 75 years of history, or perhaps for this reason, the manufacturer has done all its homework by integrating an impressive number of technologies and functions, all without getting lost in the details on physical and touch keys (there are only the latter), and in general about the user interface. A fundamental aspect that is sometimes overlooked even in devices capable of delivering high quality audio, greatly ruining its daily usability. Not in this case.

JBL Live Pro + are completely wireless earphones with 11mm drivers capable of reproducing music and audio with excellent quality and customizable via the in-app equalizer. They offer very effective active noise cancellation, sound for up to 7 hours without ANC and up to 6 hours with ANC. The autonomy reaches a total of 28 hours thanks to the small and practical carrying case: the latter is recharged via USB-C and also with wireless charging. Another gem that, after trying it, you will only reluctantly give up.
They are very light, 5 grams each, very comfortable to wear and remain fixed even while moving, offering a nice feeling of stability and safety. They provide 5 pairs of good quality rubber tips of different sizes to best fix them in the ear cavity by closing the ear canal properly.
This improves passive noise cancellation, optimizes the effect of active noise cancellation, allows you to fully enjoy high-quality audio reproduction, contributing not a little to the body and power of the bass. All lovers of rhythm, from visceral techno to the most sophisticated and delicate jazz, thank you.
JBL audio profile customizable with equalizer
Some reviews on Amazon indicate that they are not suitable for those who love powerful bass and unlimited volume 80-90s disco style. To this writer this is false: extracted from the box they offer a rather neutral JBL signature audio profile, with clean and precise frequencies that immerse the user in a full-bodied and very pleasant audio scenario, supported by discreet bass.
Thanks to the equalizer made available by the rich and complete app, which is also easy to use, it is possible to select three presets for Jazz, Voice and Bass: by choosing this last profile, the bass power increases significantly, without distortion and without overwhelming the other frequencies. With the equalizer in the app, the user can create customized audio profiles according to their tastes or to be recalled based on the genre of music being played.
Dream Controls
The app offers a test that verifies the correct fit of the ear tips and earbuds. Also from the app it is possible to change and customize all the touch controls, assigning a touch or two, or a long touch, for playback controls, volume, phone calls, voice assistant and noise cancellation adjustment.
It is impressive but this mass of functions is very well implemented and works very well, with an ease of use that disarms even those nostalgic for the old but valid one physical button one function scheme. You will be surprised, while you manage on the fly without thinking, the audio reproduction by touching the right earphone, while by touching the left one you switch from complete noise cancellation to ambient one to hear the noises and speech of those around you. To learn how to do all this, just do it once maximum two, then it seems all natural.
The myth of power
As for the volume, at first glance JBL Live Pro + seem to deliver less power than other models, this perhaps also due to the good balance of the standard audio profile, but just fiddle with the equalizer or choose the Bass preset to change completely music.
Perhaps it is true that the maximum power does not reach the peaks of other models, but we have never felt the lack of it: in all the tests we have never pushed wineskin to three quarters of the maximum power, keeping this volume only for the songs of the heart. and then lowering it back most of the time and prolonged listening.
speech issue
At the end of the review of JBL Live Pro +, we really struggle to find weaknesses in these earphones: the only one we feel like reporting is the audio quality of the speech during calls which has a slightly metallic sound. Mind you it is not a problem because our voice is always clear and well audible: this is what counts. And then, let's face it without shame, the slightly metallic inflection only reaches the ears of our interlocutors. Sorry for them but not much: a small price to pay to give our ears an enviable audio scenario.
JBL Live Pro + review: conclusions
If you have tried AirPods and are not completely convinced, or if you want to save money and get high quality audio, noise cancellation and wireless charging for the Airpods Pro case, functions and features that JBL Live Pro + offers at a significantly lower price. In practice, you get all this for a price even lower than the third generation AirPods, without active noise cancellation.
If you are looking for a pair of wireless earphones we strongly recommend you consider JBL Live Pro +, otherwise it's a shame. For your ears.
