The video game production house Epic Games has postponed the release of the new season of Fortnite, one of the most famous video games in the world, to next June 3. Chapter 2 of Season 3 was due out in the next two weeks. Epic Games did not motivate the delay nor did it refer to the restrictions for the coronavirus emergency that forced the developers to work from home, a factor that some say would have caused the delay.
However, it is not the first time that Fortnite has postponed the release of a season. Even the first season of Chapter 2, which launched in October 2019, lasted longer than expected due to numerous problems and delays that the developers had to face. In the company's blog post announcing the delay for Season 3, the Fortnite team made it known that new features will be extended to the current season.

Game developers can work from home, but there are limitations compared to normal working conditions. Most of them on their home computers don't have the same processing power that their professional equipment has. Many companies also require developers to follow strict guidelines for keeping new games secret, which can prevent some updates from being made outside of the company's physical location.
