During the night Tesla presented a new model of electric car called Cybertruck, a pick-up designed to be extremely resistant and with a range greater than that which electric vehicles normally have. The car's frame is made with a special type of stainless steel, which should be 30 times stronger than normal, while the windows are made with a material called Armor Glass, which should not break in case of impact with external objects. During the Cybertruck presentation, Tesla CEO Elon Musk asked a co-worker to take the stage and demonstrate the strength of the car's body by hammering it. It also showed some pictures of the car being hit with .9mm caliber bullets and remaining intact.
However, there was an embarrassing failure at the time of the glass resistance test: Musk asked his co-worker to throw a metal object the size of a baseball at the windows, but instead of resisting the impact, the windows fell. shattered. After the throw Musk smiled and said “maybe this was too strong”, and so a second throw was made against another glass, and it shattered too. “There is still room for improvement,” Musk said soon after.
Yikes! Tesla CEO Elon Musk wanted to show how tough his Cybertruck was, but ended up shattering two windows. “We'll fix it in post,” a sheepish Musk quipped. https://t.co/XJhbPaGajc pic.twitter.com/PnjWKtkGGZ
