On Thursday, Samsung announced that it will roll out a software update to fix Galaxy S10 smartphone fingerprint recognition issues. A British user told the tabloid Sun that her Galaxy S10, after applying a screen protector, could also be unlocked by other people besides her, despite having set up the recognition of their own fingerprints. The new Galaxy S10 in fact have, under the screen, a fingerprint reader that allows, using ultrasound, to unlock the phone without having to enter a code, and without having to press physical keys. The problem occurs with a series of screen protectors that are sold together with silicone covers: Samsung explained that it happens because internally these protectors have an internal structure that overlapping the ridges of the fingerprints interferes with their detection.
