What Apple presents on Tuesday

The new iPhone 11 will be presented by Apple during a special event organized for next Tuesday (September 10) at Apple Park, the large campus that the company recently built in Cupertino, California (United States). As is always the case before Apple events, many sneak peeks have been circulating in recent weeks about what will be presented by CEO Tim Cook and other company executives.

iPhone
According to major US tech sites, Apple will present three different iPhone models this year and their names should be: iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPhone 11, intended to replace the current iPhone XS, XS Max and XR respectively. There should be no big news in terms of design and aesthetics: a lot will change inside, with more powerful and faster processors and a new generation camera. On the other hand, more significant innovations will be missing such as the addition of compatibility for 5G cellular networks and a fingerprint reader, to unlock the phone, which perhaps will be included in next year's models and hidden under the screen.

Camera
The camera of the new iPhones will be very new, at least judging by some photographs that have been circulating in the last few weeks. It will occupy a corner of the back of the smartphone more conspicuously and will have three lenses for the most valuable model and two for the cheapest one. The lenses will be included in a large raised square.

Alleged next iPhone case moldings show what we discussed in our story last week in terms of new cameras. 3 on the high end, 2 on the new XR. Plus all models apparently getting a square, at least based on this one mold floating around. https://t.co/BhAFTZZL6u pic.twitter.com/QlNJTsApzX

iPhone 11
It will be the base model (could also be called iPhone 11R) and an update of the current iPhone XR. It will have a 6.1-inch LCD screen and will look a lot like the model presented last year, and which has sold better than expected compared to the more expensive models. The rear camera will have two lenses, one to have a minimum of optical zoom. It will be sold in a new series of colors and will have an A13 processor, the same one that is expected to be present on the more expensive models.

iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max
The new iPhone 11 Pro will be the successor of the current iPhone XS and also in this case it will keep the same dimensions and design, except for the rear square with the cameras; will have a 5.8-inch OLED screen.

The new iPhone 11 Pro Max will not be aesthetically very different from the current iPhone XS Max, apart from having a very long name; the screen will be OLED and 6.5-inch.

Both models will have a rear camera with three different lenses: one lens will offer the classic wide angle and the second a zoom, while it is not yet clear what the third lens will be used for. The zoom on the XS is appreciated, so Apple could offer the third lens an option for further magnification or a super wide angle.

Apple has also worked to perfect Face ID, the face recognition system for unlocking the phone by looking at its screen. The new version should work from multiple angles, allowing iPhones to be unlocked even when they are placed on the table. Some materials have also been replaced to make iPhones more resistant to shocks and falls.

The new A13 processor should finally be inserted on the new iPhones, faster than the previous generation (as always). Instead, the 3D Touch should definitely disappear, the system for activating various options by pressing harder on the screen and which has never been very successful.

Operating Systems
Apple presented last June the news regarding the operating systems for the iPhone (iOS), for the iPad (iPadOS), for the Apple Watch (watchOS), for Apple TV (tvOS) and for computers (macOS). Their testing phase is almost over and they will probably be made available in the coming weeks: the exact dates will be communicated as usual during the event.

MacBook Pro
Apple may present a new version of its more powerful and expensive 16-inch notebook with a significantly revised design. The biggest news could concern the keyboard, which on the current models proved to be unreliable and very sensitive to dust.

Apple TV
There may also be an update for Apple TV, the device to connect to your TV to stream content, listen to music via Apple Music and access to your photos via iCloud. The news could coincide with the arrival of Apple TV +.

Apple TV +
Apple is enhancing its presence in the online services and direct content production sector. As anticipated during a special event held in March, the company is about to make available to users Apple TV +, a streaming service with series and films produced directly by the company. The subscription, which will also offer content produced by other broadcasters and production companies, is expected to cost just under $ 10 a month and be available starting in November.

Arcade
Another expected service, and on which Apple should give some more details on Tuesday, is Arcade: a new option to have subscription video games on iOS, spending about $ 5 a month. The initiative plans to make available a catalog with titles made exclusively for iOS and other products already produced for other platforms.

Apple Watch Series 5
The Series 5 that will be presented on Tuesday should bring less news than last year, at least in terms of design. The new smartwatches will have more powerful processors and will be more efficient in terms of battery consumption. Apple could add some features, such as a system to track the quality of your sleep, a feature that several smartwatches on the market have but which are missing on Apple Watches.

Apple Tag
Finally, Apple could present its own bluetooth keychain (tracker) to be applied to objects, in order to find them when they are lost. The device wouldn't be much different from those that do a similar thing already on sale, but it could still offer better integration with iPhones and their operating system. However, not all tech sites are convinced that Apple will present this news on Tuesday.

The Apple event will be streamed on the company's website at 7pm Italian time and, for the first time, it can also be seen live on YouTube.
