Amazon announced that on August 31, the Dash Buttons, the button-shaped devices that allowed you to instantly order a specific product without going through the site, will stop working all over the world. The decision, which was confirmed by an Amazon spokesperson at the CNET technology site, follows that of last February to stop the sale of the Dash Buttons: at the time, however, Amazon had said that the devices already sold could continue to be used.
Since then, the use of Dash Buttons has “declined significantly,” the Amazon spokesman said, prompting the company to discontinue operation altogether. Only the physical buttons will stop working, while you will be able to continue using the virtual Dash Buttons and the Amazon Dash Replenishment service, which only works on certain devices (such as electric toothbrushes, dishwashers and printers) and which allows you to automatically order products from Amazon when stocks are running out.
