Huawei has postponed the release date of its foldable phone, the Mate X

The Chinese company Huawei has announced that the Mate X, its first foldable phone, will be released in September 2019 and no longer in June, as originally planned. Vincent Peng, vice president of Huawei, explained that the decision was made in order to still have time to work on improving the quality of the foldable screens.

Samsung also decided last April to postpone the marketing of its foldable phone, the Galaxy Fold, following reports of unexpected screen breaks from reporters who had received the phone to review it. On the sidelines of a conference organized by the Wall Street Journal in Hong Kong, Peng explained that the decision to postpone the release is not due to the tensions with the United States in recent months and that at the moment it cannot be said whether the Mate X when will come out will have the license to use Android, after Google had decided to suspend it.
