During Microsoft's conference at E3 in Los Angeles, the world's leading video game fair, it was announced that the new Xbox will be released in time for Christmas 2020 purchases. The new console has so far been codenamed. “Project Scarlett” and will take the place of the Xbox One, which came out in 2013 and of which two updated models were produced in the following years, the Xbox One S and the Xbox One X.
Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, said the new model will be four times more powerful than the last and will support games with a maximum resolution of 8k and with a frame rate of 120 fps. It has also been announced that the first new game available will be Halo Infinite, the latest installment in the saga of the popular Halo video game. Among other things presented is xCloud, the service for playing Xbox games in streaming, which will be available in tests starting in October 2019.
