Facebook has released a new report in which it explains that in the six months from October 2018 to March 2019 it closed more than three billion fake profiles. Facebook also added that more than seven million posts containing hate speech (what is known as “hate speech” in English) have been removed. For both profiles and posts, these are record numbers for Facebook's history. The report also presents data on how many appeals were made after the removal of posts or profiles and the number of appeals that were subsequently accepted is shown. According to recent data, Facebook profiles active at least once a month are approximately 2.3 billion, therefore less than that closed by Facebook in recent months.
