Facebook's chief of products and vice president of WhatsApp have left the company

Facebook's head of products, Chris Cox, and WhatsApp's vice president, Chris Daniels, a subsidiary of Facebook, have left the company, Facebook chief and founder Mark Zuckerberg confirmed in a note posted on the social network. Cox was one of the first 15 engineers who had collaborated with Zuckerberg since the inception of Facebook and was part of his small group of collaborators. Among other things, Cox collaborated in the creation of the Newsfeed – the News section of the social network, the most important and popular – and collaborated in the programming of the Facebook app. Daniels instead assumed the position of vice president of WhatsApp, the messaging app that had been bought by Facebook in 2014, only last year, in May, after the resignation of Jan Koum, one of the two co-founders of Whatsapp.
