Almost 25 years after its arrival in stores, Sony has decided to put its first PlayStation on sale again, in a miniature version and with some video games preloaded in it. The mini console will cost 99 euros and will have in memory several titles that contributed to its fame such as Final Fantasy VII, Ridge Racer Tupe, Wild Arms and Tekken 3. Sony has not yet released a complete list of video games, but it will do so in the coming weeks in time for the sale scheduled for the first days of December.
Although in miniature, the PS1 is a rather faithful reproduction of the original, including gray.
In addition to the mini console, the package will include two controllers and the cables needed to connect the system to the TV.
With a few years of delay, Sony has decided to follow Nintendo on the path of revivals, building commemorative reproductions of its consoles. Commercial initiatives of this type by Nintendo have been very successful, despite some problems in the production of the consoles that initially slowed down and complicated sales. Sony has a more reliable hardware manufacturing capacity, so it should have no problem with the global launch of the new old PlayStation in December.
