Google has banned extensions and applications that “mine” cryptocurrencies through its Chrome browser. Until now, systems of this type were tolerated, as long as they adequately warned users about their activities, which consume computer resources leading to its slowdown. However, those at Google realized that in 90 percent of cases the warnings were not clear and explicit enough. Furthermore, applications and extensions began to circulate on the Chrome Web Store that promised particular services, but which then in fact activated secretly to perform the mining. For this reason, Google has decided to no longer accept applications that do mining, while those that already exist will be excluded from the Web Store starting next July. Mining is a procedure that allows you to validate transactions with cryptocurrencies and which leads, as a reward system, to the attribution of a fraction of virtual currency. Requiring large computing capabilities, it is often performed in a shared way by putting together computer networks.
