Uber and Waymo, Alphabet's company that designs and develops self-driving cars, have struck a deal to settle a recent court case. The issue involved Uber's use of a technology for self-driving cars. Uber was accused of misappropriating it from Waymo. Under the deal made between the two companies, Uber will pay $ 245 million in shares to Waymo, corresponding to 0.34 percent of Uber's share value. The deal came a few days after the trial began, which will now be closed. It all started a year ago, when Alphabet accused Uber of hiring an engineer who had worked for Waymo, and who had brought patented documents and knowledge to Uber.
