Last Wednesday, WhatsApp – famous and popular messaging app owned by Facebook since 2014 – unveiled WhatsApp Business. This is a new application, born with the idea of separating personal messages from work ones: for the former the reference app will remain WhatsApp, while for the latter it will be possible to use a new space for interaction between commercial activities and customers. . On WhatsApp Businnes, companies will be able to enter the description of their business, physical address, email and website in their profile. Those who have a profile will be able to access statistical data on the use of the app (such as the number of messages read) and set automatic replies to customers, as well as welcome and absence messages.
Both a mobile and landline phone number can be associated with the app, and a verified business account will be activated for each company that will make it recognizable to those who contact it. For those who use the usual WhatsApp app, nothing changes: you don't have to download a new one to interact with companies (and block their numbers, if so). WhatsApp Businness is for the moment available in Italy, Indonesia, Mexico, United Kingdom and United States, and today it can only be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
