In recent years, Microsoft has made several improvements to its default browser: Microsoft Edge now uses Chromium and is much faster and more secure than its Internet predecessor Explorer, yet users continue to use it just to download Chrome.
It would appear that Microsoft has had enough of this practice and has therefore begun advising users to “stay on Edge”. In fact, by searching for Chrome on the search bar, you will be able to see popups that read “Microsoft Edge works with the same technology as Chrome, with the additional security of Microsoft” , or the cutest “That browser is so 2008! You know what's new? Microsoft Edge”.
On the other hand, even Google is no exception: using the search engine with a browser other than Chrome, it will not be difficult to come across popups that recommend to switch to the “safer and faster” browser of BigG .
