Twitter starts the deployment of payment spaces

Twitter Spaces continue to add features to measures that Clubhouse, the pioneer application in audio rooms, continues to decline. From now on, some hosts will be able to sell tickets in order to monetize their live content.

Twitter began testing Ticketed Spaces in the United States for users with more than 1,000 followers and who have organized at least three Spaces in the last 30 days. Now, however, the feature is reaching iOS app users —with no region limit—. Of course, to access this novelty, you must first request it from the monetization settings in the profile.

“We hope it will be available to everyone soon. We know that it is taking a little time, but we want to do it well for you!”, Explains the official Espacios Twitter account in relation to the gradual rollout of the function.

More possibilities for the hosts

Credit: Twitter Hosts of Twitter Spaces using iOS now have more options to push their content live. In the first place they will be able to establish a limit of participants in their rooms .

Unsurprisingly, hosts will also be able to set a custom value for tickets. Of course, they will not have absolute freedom to choose the value. This should be between 1 dollar and 999 dollars .

It should be noted that, at least in this testing stage, the creators will keep 97% of the income from the sale of tickets for the Spaces. That is, Twitter will keep the 3% as commission .

However, if a host is very successful, they will have to pay more. According to The Verge, if a user earns more than $ 50,000 with the Spaces application, Twitter will raise their commission to 20%.

The evolution of Twitter Spaces

After its official launch, the Twitter Spaces have been adding features to expand their reach to users. For example, listeners will soon be able to join a conversation directly from the browser, but not yet as speakers.

And, unlike Clubhouse, anyone with the Twitter app for Android or iOS can create spaces. Of course, you must have a base of 600 followers to access this feature.

Added to all this is the ability to monetize the rooms through tickets on iOS and their next arrival on Android. As you can see, Clubhouse is no longer the protagonist of the space that it literally invented.
