Sonos and IKEA Symfonisk speaker revamps its design with new materials and customization options

The joint work of Sonos and IKEA continues to bear very interesting results. On this occasion, the companies have presented the second generation of the table lamp with speaker from the Symfonisk line.

“Since the launch of the first Symfonisk loudspeaker with a table lamp, we have learned a lot about how and where they are used. For example, a lot of people use the lamp speaker on a bedside table, “says IKEA's Stjepan Begic.

In this sense, the Symfonisk all-in-one lamp is receiving its first update since it debuted in 2019. Sonos and IKEA are committed to a quality product, capable of offering a better customization experience.

Unlike the first generation, IKEA will sell the lampshade base separately . This will allow, according to the company, to better combine the styles to ensure that the final product adapts better to the home environment.

More customization options in the new Sonos and IKEA lamp

Customers will have the possibility to choose between a version in white or black of the Symfonisk base lamp , as well as two lampshades in different styles (in fabric and glass) in colors also white or black.

Clearly, the fabric shade is completely different from the glass one. This interchangeable accessory almost completely changes the appearance of these new Symfonisk lamps from IKEA.

In addition, in order to maintain the level of customization, the lamp allows the use of a wide range of bulbs thanks to the compatibility with E27 and E26 sockets .

IKEA has detailed that the new built-in speaker lamp will be available in North America and select European markets in stores and on its website from October this year. Later, in 2022, it will reach all markets. Pricing has yet to be revealed.

This Sonos and IKEA lamp introduced today is part of the Symfonisk product range, which consists of connected speakers that decorate the home while offering good sound quality. Among them is this curious camouflaged box speaker that we tested at Hypertextual.
