1Password users now have a new tool to further protect their privacy and security . The password manager has partnered with Fastmail to add Masked Email, a feature similar to the well-known Hide My Email that Apple offers with iCloud +.

Masked Email lets you create unique, random, and hard-to-crack email addresses. These can be used in any form, application or service. Unlike Hide My Email, the 1Password solution is not limited to the Apple ecosystem and works everywhere.

When a page or application asks to enter an email, 1Password will show an option to create a new one. If a user uses the mail lucas@fastmail.com , they can create luks.2652@fastmail.com, but new messages will still appear in the inbox of lucas@fastmail.com. In this way, with the 1Passwrod and Fastmail service avoid giving your main email .

The scenarios in which this service can be used are many. For example, when registering on a public Wi-Fi network, when wanting to leave a comment on a web page or when registering for certain services that require entering an email address.
