WhatsApp will stop working on these Android smartphones from November 2021

WhatsApp has introduced a good amount of news in recent months. However, it is clear that some terminals, mainly older ones, no longer have the potential to offer the latest features of the messaging service – and many other applications. It is for this reason that the platform, as usual every year, has announced the end of support for some Android devices .

Through its question and answer portal, WhatsApp announced that will stop working on smartphones with Android 4.0.4 or lower from November 2021 . Although we are talking about terminals that hit the market about a decade ago, there are still people who use them. If you are one of them, WhatsApp recommends you change the device for a newer one and back up your chat history:

“As of November 1, 2021, WhatsApp will no longer be compatible with phones with Android 4.0.4 operating system and earlier versions. Please switch to a compatible device or save your chat history before then.”

WhatsApp Therefore, from November it will be necessary to have at least Android 4.1 to be able to use WhatsApp. Among the terminals that will lose support for WhatsApp are models of Huawei, Lenovo and the defunct Sony Ericsson, for example. We share a list below:

Huawei Ascend G615.Huawei Ascend P1 LTE.Huawei Honor 2.Lenovo 1660.Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S.ZTE Grand X Pro.

The news of WhatsApp does not stop

As mentioned above, WhatsApp has the spotlight on its recent news. The most outstanding of all, without a doubt, is the possibility of transferring the chat history from iOS to Android . Although at the moment it is limited to Samsung terminals, the service indicates that it will soon be available to any smartphone. Of course, in the future they will offer a similar tool to migrate from Android to iOS.

In addition, we must not forget the multi-device function , which will allow the application to be used on various computers without depending on a main device. This proposal will bring with it the long-awaited iPad application, which users have been requesting for years.
