Giorgio Gaber, as everyone has known him, was born in 1939 in Milan.He developed a love for music while playing the guitar as a therapy for a hand injury. In his thirty-year career Gaber has created other iconic songs , such as How beautiful is the city and then trod the stage of the theater from 1970 with emotional and complex works examined Italian society and encouraged an introspective national dialogue.
After his death in 2003, there were many posthumous tributes dedicated to the Italian artist, such as the reopening of the historic Milanese opera house with the name Teatro Lirico Giorgio Gaber .
