TIM launches the new FTTH GPON modem with 2.5 Gbps speed: Iliad effect?

A few hours ago we saw Iliad launch its new and awaited offer for fiber in Italy, with very attractive prices. After the launch we also talked about the actual speeds that can be reached with the modem provided by Iliad.

Precisely in this context, TIM presents its novelty for fixed line offers. The operator has in fact officially launched a new modem for its fixed line customers. Let's talk about TIM HUB + Executive , a modem that will be compatible with FTTH GPON networks and able to support surfing speeds up to 2.5 Gbps .

Furthermore, starting from 4 February , TIM will make the offer available TIM Executive Fibra the new profile FTTH up to 2.5 Gbps . The offer will be available for new customers , but also for existing Executive customers who previously requested the free upgrade. Always the Executive customers can request, through the app MyTIM , the free reception of the new modem.

At the moment TIM has not shared the technical specifications of the new modem, so we do not know if the speed of 2.5 Gbps will be the sum of all maximum speeds that can be reached on all ports of the modem or if it will correspond to the maximum speed that can be reached on a single port.

For more details we suggest you consult the dedicated page on the official website of the operator.
