IPhones can now be unlocked while wearing the faceplate

From Monday 14 March the latest update of the iPhone operating system (iOS 15.4) is available worldwide which, among other things, will allow those who own the latest models to unlock the phone via face recognition even when wearing a mask.

The update was one of the most anticipated by iPhone owners for about two years, or since the masks have become an indispensable accessory in everyday life due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Once you have updated your iPhone, to enable the new function you will have to go to the Settings and select “Face ID and code”, and then activate the green check on “Use Face ID with mask”. However, the function is only available for some models, the most recent: iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. In practice, only for iPhones released in the last two years.

For the release to take place, the eyes must be clearly visible, therefore it is not possible to wear sunglasses and it is advisable not to wear a hat that covers part of the forehead.

TODAY! Our long iPhone-mask-unlock nightmare comes to an end.
