Today we talk about streaming, for work or for passion, with two truly impressive devices for design, power and refined skills: we have examined them for you to tell you some important aspects and some more hidden, but really tasty.
Two because they are better than one
In themselves the products covered by this review are very different, but they share the context: both are used, indeed they are essential in some cases, to produce content in front of a camera, both for streaming and for recording.
Razer Key Light Chroma is a light panel designed to illuminate a subject: the lighting is soft, so it does not produce the problem of posterization of the highlights and can be modulated in the color that best suits the environment.
Razer Seiren BT is a battery-powered, wearable microphone, excellent for on-the-fly recording: it replaces (in various situations) a lavalier microphone, being much less demanding and (above all) completely manageable from a smartphone even on the move.
Great for those who can't use a standard microphone at home or in the studio, but also for those who shoot outdoors and need a wearable device.

Every shadow is the daughter of light
The review begins with the Razer Key Light Chroma, a light panel with an adjustable rod for connecting to a table (but can also be held by hand).
The total size of the lamp (if we want to call it that, but it would be reductive) is 360 x 260 mm, with a luminous surface of 320 x 220 mm: not bad, as dimensions it is comparable to a 12.9 “iPad Pro (and the looks alike, were it not for the rather important edges).
The thickness is 1.5 mm at the edges and just over 3 in the central part and is important in the desk, but it is inevitable given the role: fortunately, thanks to the support, it can be easily positioned above or next to the display or , for those who have a dedicated position, above or next to the camera.
Razer Key Light Chroma has a movable shaft that allows free positioning both in the angle of the light and in heightThe lamp offers a wire power supply system, and the package is generous with adapters for all international standards, as well as a wireless connection that allows it to be controlled both from a PC (Windows only, via the Synapse drivers) and from a Smartphone (via App).
The surface is entirely plastic, with the bright part made of a matte panel with a system that dampens the highlights, making the midtones more prominent.
Managing the connection is not difficult, just follow the instructions and connect the Razer Key Light Chroma to a Wi-Fi network, and then you can manage it alternately from a PC or from a smartphone, which “capture” the light from time to time.
In bright light not we are not even a shadow.
Once turned on, the adjustment phase begins, far from simple: let's be clear, Razer Key Light Chroma is a professional product and should be treated as such.
It is not difficult, but it requires a certain time and a certain “mastery” to be mastered and to produce the best effect: an effect that takes into account the adjustment of the parameters, but also a preparation of the background, of the ambient lighting adjustment. and of the camera filming, because the final result is an effect of a global consideration.
Getting a good result in front of a camera matters a lot, very much in some environments, whether you are broadcasting an assault on Diablo's lands on Twitch, or a complex quarterly financial report on Teams or Zoom: if up to a couple of years ago having the grandmother cooking on the stove in the background was considered an action resulting from the lack of experience of most in the art of streaming, today professionalism is required and is as important as a business card, an elegant dress or a compelling presentation. We cannot all be like Pippo Baudo in Sanremo, but the commitment must be seen.
And then we went out to see the stars again
To help the user, Razer Key Light Chroma offers a truly effective diffused lighting: the ideal is to turn off all the lights, close the windows and let the Razer lighting do its work, improving the contrast and lighting of the subject. , without problems in other lights and offering the most suitable color cast.
The basic idea is to offer two levels of light: one that takes care of the amount of light, together with the temperature, and another that takes care of the color cast, to be chosen from a variant of 16,000 different colors.
The result is, already in the first steps, sensational: a little for the size, a little for the painstaking controls and a little for the ability to illuminate without suffocating, at the same time managing to offer an important cut to the most dark without ruining the midtones (which are the most important for the skin) made us satisfied right away.
As we have said, to obtain a correct result it takes a little time and a lot of tests, and sometimes it may not be enough: you need to know right away that light enhances everything, from a nice smile to a few too many folds, so in some cases a bit of makeup is needed, as well as the contour set-up which should leave nothing to chance (for example, a good contrast with the background always helps).

A wrong voice cancels the beauty of a landscape
Second of this roundup, but not least, the Razer Seiren BT is a portable microphone, designed to be attached to a shirt or jacket via a built-in clip, which runs on battery with charging via USB-C.
The shape is that of a small lighter, a parallelepiped with rounded corners 60 x 15 x 10 mm large, with an all-black satin metal surface.
On one side there is a large clip, of the same material and color, which is used to place it in clothes: about two thirds of the microphone are dedicated to electronics, while the upper third is designed for the capsule, which can also be covered with two wind covers included in the package, together with the USB-A / USB-C cable for charging.
The battery lasts about six hours, which is reduced to four and a half hours with the artificial intelligence functions active (which we recommend to always keep on, even considering the higher consumption) and to charge it takes about an hour and a half.
The microphone is absolutely discreet and does not stand out, and even when it does, it still appears devoid of frivolities so much that it immediately fades into the background: it is easily associated with a smartphone (or even a tablet) and allows it to be used via Bluetooth 5.0, for recordings or live streaming.
Razer warns that the Razer Seiren BT cannot work in conjunction with native apps for shooting, due to a limitation given by iOS and Android, but this problem can be circumvented by streaming directly from third-party devices that use Apps / services like Streamlabs or similar.

Voices in the dark have more character
Unlike the Razer Key Light Chroma, which can also be used outdoors but designed especially for the studio, Razer Seiren BT offers an absolutely hybrid perspective.
The microphone is omnidirectional (6 mm, 48 Khz), which means that it is designed to collect sounds at 360 °, a function practically necessary since the microphone does not have a precise position and must be able to operate correctly anchored in any type of position. .
The choice of this type of capsule according to the writer is perfect because it does not require attention from the user who hooks the microphone where it is most comfortable, regardless of any movements, secondly it offers optimal use even for those who are not accustomed the use of a microphone (in fact, by moving the capsule closer or further away, no particular differences or distortions are heard).
The omnidirectional capsule of the Razer Seiren BT allows you to attach it to clothes without problems, so it will pick up all sounds, regardless of the positionThe supporting App, which the writer was able to test in beta before launch (and which is the same for Razer Key Light Chroma) offers several controls: from the possibility of using Artificial Intelligence to reduce external noise, an effect particularly important that here it offers truly excellent results with a clean cut of external noises such as buses, cars, motorcycles and more, up to the gain, adjustable in percentage, ending up with low latency, a control that if activated reduces the gap up to 20 milliseconds ( an effect we had already seen in the Razer Opus X) offering a feeling full of real time.
It should be noted that the microphone offers an analog audio jack output for headphones, in order to have a constant monitor, in case you need it (we tested it with the Razer BlackShark V2).
Our experience, which was based on some recording tests and some phone calls also via Teams, unfortunately we do not have a sample of the nightingale here, is that the microphone offers a really important quality, even if it is necessary to understand the right position of the object in the market.
Razer Seiren BT is not a cardioid microphone (like the Razer Seiren V2 Pro), with the positive side of having an important quality wherever you place it (within range) without volume changes or disturbances in the headphones (thanks to the AI) and the downside that audio quality is clearly a small trade-off.
Any (or almost) cardioid microphone offers better quality, but none have the portability and ease of handling of this omnidirectional microphone: understood this point, the new Razer Seiren BT is a product that can make the streamer happy during an outing, who makes a sound performance and does not want to depend on a front microphone (therefore for example instead of a lavalier) or even for those who, for example, need to make many calls with hands and ears free, without having to stay in a specific point (because the microphone follows the user).
The only drawback we see in this product is that it is perhaps too small: this consideration takes into account that once worn the less you see it the better, but it is so small, and black, that if it falls in the bag it takes a lot of attention to find it and the lack of lighting, even with wireless control, would have been useful.
Considerations
With these two new products, Razer is attacking in what is the streaming segment, studio or mobile, with a really interesting offer both from a technological and a practical point of view.
Razer Key Light Chroma is an incredibly useful lighting system to provide that professional depth that anyone streaming is looking for, both from a business and gaming perspective, whose price is, unsurprisingly, important but which guarantees a quality and a series of options unique in the market.
On the other hand, Razer Seiren BT covers a concrete need for those who often shoot outdoors, who obviously have the possibility of using other solutions, but hardly so practical and comfortable, as well as a lighter solution for the studio than the classic ones. headphones with microphone, which in some areas are not so elegant.
Razer therefore after becoming a protagonist in the gaming sector, has long started to scale the business and now also that of streaming, which is horizontal compared to the first two.
