Slightly inspired by the best-known Apple Watch, KOSPET MAGIC 3 is the latest smartwatch from the brand of the same name, which has long invested in the production of numerous wearables, all dedicated to fitness, but with an increasingly interesting aspect, to show off even in everyday life. . Here's what we think of this really low cost smartwatch ( only 26 euros ).
Let's start with the design. As already mentioned, this KOSPET MAGIC 3 employs a square design, which is slightly inspired by Apple Watch , although absolutely distinguishable. It has small dimensions, with a width of about 38 mm, a thickness of 11.5 mm and a length, including strap, of 255 mm.
The weight is equally low, and the total 50 grams are not felt in everyday life. We also wore it for a whole day without any problems, the strap is comfortable, although certainly the silicone material could make you sweat on the hottest days.
The body of the smartwatch, on the other hand, is made of metal, well assembled. Despite the square design and the thickness of 1.15 cm, it does not bother the wrist. KOSPET MAGIC 3 is characterized by a large 1.71 inch TFT touch display, with glass slightly curved at the edges, which has a resolution of 280 x 320 pixels.
Overall the screen is good , certainly not an impressive resolution, but considering the price it is actually enjoyable. Even the brightness is not very high, so during our use we always preferred to use it at maximum brightness. This is good, even if the display is not maximally readable in direct sunlight.
On the left side there is a single button , which is used to go back in the menu, as well as to turn the display on and off. There is also the option “raise wrist to activate”, which works well enough and almost always allows you to turn on the display as soon as you lift your wrist.
Overall, through the app it is possible to download 50 Watch Faces , many of which are actually valid, contrary to what happens with other Chinese smartwatches, in which the enjoyable faces can be counted on the fingers of one hand.
Features and operation
Among the most valuable features we immediately start by saying that KOSPET MAGIC 3 enjoys the IP68 certification , so it is also possible to wear it while washing your hands, on rainy days, and even in the shower. .
It allows you to monitor your heart rate 24 hours a day , and obviously does not give up that sequence of characteristics typical of a sport watch: count steps, calories burned, distance traveled, monitoring sleep, SpO2, and even blood pressure .
You can also track up to 20 sports activities including walking, running, cycling, badminton, basketball, soccer, swimming, mountaineering, tennis, rugby, golf, baseball, elliptical machine, free workout, and others.
The measurements have always seemed plausible to us. In particular, the step count is good, at least when compared to that of more famous smartbands. The data are comparable, with a truly negligible difference at the end of the day.
The measurement of heartbeats was also in line with that of more expensive competitors, as was that of blood oxygenation. Obviously it is not a medical instrument, as indeed it is not even the most expensive of the Apple Watches.
Overall, therefore, it seemed to us a good companion for fitness and for everyday life , with measurements that probably correspond to reality. In addition to sport, however, it is also possible to receive messages and notifications on the wrist, so that you can read SMS, WhatsApp and other notifications from the most important apps, including social ones, without having to take your smartphone out of your pocket.
In terms of autonomy, it has a 220 mAh battery, which ensure about 7 days of use. We can confirm that this use is actually achieved, even if the autonomy may vary slightly depending on the use.
App Fit
The support application for this KOSPET MAGIC 3 is called Da Fit . Leaving aside some inaccuracies in the Italian translation, it is really well done . The first screen, in fact, immediately provides a report of your day, showing on a white background large cards for each measurement: sleep steps, heart rate, pressure, blood oxygenation and data on outdoor running.
From the same app it is possible to set the daily step goal, but also to download new watch faces from those available in the integrated store (they are all free), as well as to decide which notifications to receive on the smartphone. Overall, the app is really complete and comprehensive, with a graphical interface designed for the price range so cheap.
Conclusions
Among the Chinese smartwatches of this really reduced price range, Kospet magic 3 seemed to us one of the most interesting exponents . The clock interface is simple, yet effective, and displays all tracked data in an orderly fashion. The measurements are plausible, and the display is sufficient. Aesthetically it is also valid. For less than 30 euros it's a really good buy.
