Once again, it seems that Nayib Bukele, the president of the Government of El Salvador, is on everyone's lips. Recently the president has revealed the plans of the FR-EE architectural studio for the construction of a city based on bitcoin. If the idea wasn't crazy enough, Bukele wants it to be built on the edge of a volcano.
Through a publication by Nayib Bukele on his Twitter account, the president shared an image of what the city would look like after its development. In addition, although the model has been developed in a golden material, Bukele comments that this will not be the final color of the real product —only that was missing—.
“No, the city will not be gold metal; that is just the architect's choice of color for the model. The real city will be mainly green and blue. With a beautiful viewpoint on the volcano.”

How is the new Bitcoin city
The plans, images and models seem to agree that it will be a large and circular city. This form, according to comments from Dezeen magazine, will be based on the form of a bitcoin. Likewise, the Mexican architect, Fernando Romero, will be in charge of its design.
The city will be made up of concentric figures that will start from a central square, extending outwards as it grows. The location of this square will be demarcated by the shape of the bitcoin logo, and will also have other landmarks throughout its streets and avenues.
Likewise, Bukele has revealed that this bitcoin city will have its own airport -whose shape is also rounded-, squares, and many other elements typical of a city.
Of course, in addition to powering the city, the volcano will also serve to mine bitcoins in the area. It is no secret to anyone that cryptocurrency mining is incredibly demanding in terms of electrical power, and is one of the most polluting industries today for the same reason.

After El Salvador became the first state to fully adopt bitcoin, we wondered if it was really paying off. However, the recent fall of the cryptocurrency has left the Central American country on the verge of bankruptcy; and it is that since September the country has been adding more than 2 thousand three hundred units of bitcoin to its coffers.
However, it seems that El Salvador has not wanted to reveal new details about its modern city of bitcoins. Bukele is not the first interested in planning an area of this style. In 2020, singer Akon signed a contract to build a cryptocurrency-based city in Senegal, and his name would be 'Akon City'.
