Lamicall Tablet Support is the last of the products that we are going to discover of this intriguing brand: today we talk about support for tablets, which almost always means for iPad.
A desk stand that does its good job, even if it isn't exactly an “Apollo” to look at: but it is light, practical, modular and definitely affordable.
Plastic and rubber
As is tradition, Lamicall Tablet Holder comes in a simple cardboard box, with the support inside, folded to load less space, a small leaflet and an information leaflet about the brand.
One of the main features appears immediately: the support acts open, but is easily foldable, so as to take up little space if placed in a bag or backpack, because in the end it can become comfortable even when traveling.

Basically, the support is composed of three pieces that fit together and slide each other: the product arrives already assembled and, among other things, there is no way to disassemble it, however the three pieces are modular to find the convenient position of the tablet in the desk.
The whole is made of white plastic, a not beautiful material but which has the advantage of being very light and cheap, except for a viscose rubber insert where the tablet rests.
Angles and heights
Lamicall Tablet Holder has a part that gradually opens up to an angle of 70 °, to offer the tablet the correct angle, since each of us has a different physicality and posture.
Immediately after, it is possible to place the tablet on the front, covered as we said by a soft viscose rubber, which prevents the device from moving, even if it is still supported by a shelf (divided in two) that comes out and supports it at the bottom. .
The only possible adjustment is given by this part in mixed plastic and rubber, adjustable in height: once taken, with the thumb you slide the rubber section up to the desired height (the excursion is about 4 centimeters) by pressing in the part of the logo, which is soft and accompanies the thumb.
How does it work
Lamicall Tablet Holder is a really simple and elementary product: you place it on the table, adjust the angle and height, all with one hand because the sections slide very well, and you place the device in the correct position.
The lower part of the support houses two small shelves, spaced specifically to leave space for the charging cable in case you put the tablet horizontally, or for some Android tablets that have the charge on the long side.

With the arrival of the Airplay function also on iPad, having the dual display on Mac is really a matter of a click and often turns out to be really great as a help, even if used on the fly, for example in webinars, in order to have a presentation from a part and list of connected on the other.
But since you don't live on iPads alone, we can say that we have also used the support for a real display, such as the Desklab Portable Monitor, which now finally has a valid support.
Since the product is very simple and elementary, we do not see any real defects: the function of closing to be carried on the bag is very interesting in the future (in this historical moment, mobility is a non-priority item) and the hinge offers the right degree of resistance: but even if the hinge should give way, the maximum opening angle is still guaranteed, because it rests on the weight of the device it has to support.
With a movement of the thumb, the height of the support is adjusted, sliding a part up or down. The central part with the brand can be pressed to better adjust the grip
The adjustable height is also very convenient, especially for those with very large devices such as the aforementioned display or a 13 ″ iPad.
Basically, it is a very interesting aid, whose realization in plastic on the one hand is not beautiful (we have seen more refined and aesthetically better materials) but it is practical and light (factors not to be underestimated). Simplicity is its trump card, even if there is no lack of important adjustment skills, to put the device in the right place and in the right way to work at its best.
