We talk a lot about Razer here at Cyberlayman, a little bit because every single product is certainly above the average (and often it is a leader in its specific sector) but also because the news overlap one after the other in a very rapid succession, sign of a constantly evolving brand. We recently told you about the innovative Razer Huntsman V2 Analog keyboard and the Razer Viper 8K mouse, but over time we have noticed how the interests of the American brand house are expanding more and more; an example are the new Project Hazel masks or the new line for the office (with the Pro Type keyboard and the Pro Click mouse) or the solutions for the iPhone. and now we are here talking about a chair, or rather, an armchair: Razer Iskur
Iskur is an ambitious and difficult project but one that users (especially the most loyal ones) have been invoking for years: basically the completion of a transformation that has been taking place for some time in the snake brand that from simple (so to speak, today Razer is among the most important brands in the video game sector) manufacturer of branded accessories capable of enveloping the user with 360 ° solutions. We are in fact talking about a “hi-tech” chair, which has a significant price, designed to make staying in front of a monitor as comfortable as possible, something that for many, especially for those who play (but not only) is a fundamental factor.
We announced the Razer Iskur chair some time ago but it is only now available in Italy and we did not ask ourselves twice in testing it, so much was the curiosity for a product that was on the one hand very awaited and on the other very interesting given the novelty that she (literally) carries in her womb.
Aggressive look, perhaps a little too gamer, but suitable for those with a strong character
The box, not to be underestimated
The box, indeed, the box arrived in the house accompanied by the envy of the courier (who complimented us on the choice, since the cardboard was visible) and a certain labor to make her climb the stairs.
Once you made room in the living room, the assembly phase began which for us lasted about forty minutes to take the photos you see attached below and the setup, but which probably does not normally require more than twenty.

Assembly
Inside the box we find the actual seat and the backrest, which are hooked in a simple way, plus the base and all the accessories, easily assembled following the instructions of a very clear cardboard accompanied by a video that can be watched online .
Already during the assembly phase, however, some details emerge clearly, such as the care in materials and design, a sign that this is not a market experiment but a direction undertaken with method by a company that intends to impose itself in this sector. On the other hand, the cost for the chair is not indifferent and those who buy it know what they buy both for the look and for the functions and peculiarities it offers.
Once the assembly phase was over, we had the first contact. The chair unquestionably offers an incredible seat; there is the impression of being on the deck of the Enterprise (even if the classic RGB lights that the brand tends to put in all products are missing, even if it takes some getting used to.

Memory
The Razer Iskur is not a classic office chair, this is clear: it is a chair first of all for a gamer, but which also looks good in a manager's office, elegant but with a very specific character, both in the look (own) how much of the session. All cushions are designed to accompany and support the body throughout the day and, even more so, in the evening during long play sessions.
It is precisely in this sense that the Razer Iskur looms: at first it seems firm, but certainly not too soft but after a few hours it begins to understand how we are made and it adapts perfectly to our anatomical shape.
The side wings in the seat are very pronounced and high, not adjustable, and hold great during involuntary and intense movements during a game, but we can consider that they are just as comfortable for quieter days than a webinar.
As a middle-aged European (and we suppose also American) users, the seat might have needed a few more centimeters of width to be perfect, but for the same reason it might have been wide for Asian users and younger people. Basically you get used to it eventually even if you have to forget to sit cross-legged, here the straight-legged posture is mandatory (which is good, your back will thank you over time).
Killer App
The real Killer App of this chair, however, lies in the adjustable lumbar support, a real innovation in the sector that, we are sure, we will see in many other chairs of this type in the years to come.
This support consists of a part of the chair that literally moves (via a user-adjustable lever) and supports the part of the back that is usually more prone to problems by forcing it to stand more erect, resulting in straightening of the shoulders thus favoring a sensitive improved posture.
The other chairs on the market offer much simpler solutions: from cushions to static supports, which do their job, but which are not as adjustable and customizable as this one.
The writer immediately appreciated the choice of lumbar support, even before trying it in person, but we suspected that the mechanism was delicate and at risk of breaking: the impression we have had in recent weeks is proved instead that it is a sturdy and simple part of the chair, similar to the one that adjusts the height and that over time will not give problems.
Unquestionable quality
It should be clear that, despite the presence of the adjustable lumbar support, the rest of the chair does not ask for less attention and praise: the surface is made of a multi-layered leather-like material, capable (says Razer) of resisting the stresses of jeans, keys , studs and anything you have in your pocket (and that could create micro-tears in the fabric).
The look is obviously gamer, with a dominant black color and acid green stitching in relief, as well as some quotes (as in the front of the seat) and the logo on the cushion (which is in memory foam).
The levers located under the chair lock it in a fixed position (useful when you are in front of the camera, especially if it is adjusted to fixed focus, in streaming or in a webinar) or tilting forward and backward. In practice it is possible to swing the backrest back and forth
The handrests (which arrive already screwed) can be removed if necessary, without affecting the structure of the chair. But that would be a shame, because they offer full 4D adjustment, which means they are adjustable in height, tilt, depth and width to better suit your posture (although having them a few inches wider would have been better).
In the face of a high degree of customization of any aspect, we can say that the levers placed under the chair would perhaps have been more comfortable if they had been of more generous dimensions, but this impression perhaps depends on the type of posture we have given to the chair; in any case the adjustments are made quite occasionally, so this is not such an important problem anyway.
The adjustments are simple and intuitive: perhaps some levers are not so immediate to reach, but on the other hand it is of operations that are done very rarely and perhaps Razer preferred to reduce the total footprint
Conclusions
In a historical moment in which many of us have found themselves, more or less forcibly, working from home, the choice of a chair is not to be underestimated and indeed, it must be taken seriously; just experience how uncomfortable those in the kitchen are when you use them all day. Razer Iskur therefore places itself at a very important point in our life in front of the computer and its choice represents adherence to the belief that a chair is a strategic step.
The price of the Razer Iskur is tangible, but it is a purchase that is amortized over several years, in which the quality of the product is fundamental and in the case of the Razer armchair it emerges clear from the assembly stage.
The look is of a gamer, aggressive and unmistakable, and this can be at the same time a plus for those looking for this but also a brake for those who want a chair with the same quality but with a more sober design, to be used even in the office.

Certainly once chosen, there is no going back: in today's market of chair models that can rival the quality of the Razer Iskur, they can be counted in the fingers of one hand and none have features like adjustable lumbar support.
There is still something to improve but it is undeniable that for a debut in such a difficult market the work was excellent: the choice of a Razer Iskur must be weighed, by investment and by yield, but the repercussions linked to the choice of one wrong chair are serious and not to be underestimated.
