Razer DeathAdder V2 Pro review, the pro mouse par excellence is now wireless

Razer DeathAdder V2 Pro is the continuation of a path that began a year ago with the presentation of the Razer Viper Ultimate and the Razer Basilisk Ultimate.

Mice that introduced technologies that later migrated to the iconic DeathAdder family.

    The myth continues

The review was a must, because the DeathAdder series represents today one of the most famous product lines both for the gaming world and for the world of mice in general.

On the other hand, with more than 10 million units sold, we are talking about an icon in the sector, capable of living for 14 years of history and many models released, often also in different colors and matched sponsorships.

The Razer DeathAdder V2 Pro model follows the line of the Razer DeathAdder V2 and Razer DeathAdder V2 mini models, standing as the main model, especially thanks to the triple connection (wire, wi-fi and bluetooth), similar to the Pro Clic model we reviewed by not much, even if here it is a model more dedicated to the Gaming sector.

    No Dock

The box is quite contained: the cover opens like a daisy leaving the real container, in recyclable material that shows inside the mouse, the charging wire, a USB adapter and a small soft fabric bag for transport.

We immediately noticed that the charging dock is missing, which we had seen in the Razer Viper Ultimate and in the Razer Basilisk Ultimate, not necessary but which is available as a separate purchase for those who want it.

Classical form , the best on the market

The shape of the mouse is very similar to that of the V2 model and which, in the personal opinion of the writer, the best among all those tested, as long as you are right-handed users (the design is always handled by Stephane Blanchard).

In the lower part there are the ceramic feet, the optical scanner, the housing for the Wi-Fi dongle (even here we would have liked a model with USB-C instead there is still the one with USB-A) and the switch which determines the type of connection between off (therefore wired), Wi-FI or Bluetooth.

In the upper part, the two classic buttons, the clickable wheel (with snap-on rubber surface), the buttons for adjusting the resolution and the two internal side buttons (to be operated with the thumb).

On the back, the illuminated Razer logo: without the drivers, the logo lights up with a slowly changing color scale, while with the Synapse 3.0 drivers (only on Windows, a shame) the color is perfectly manageable and also synchronized with other devices Razer compatible.

The surface is in porous plastic in the upper part, while on the sides we find a shaped non-slip viscose rubber, prone to obtaining an excellent grip even in very agitated and hot moments.

    Features

We tested the mouse on a gamer mat, the Razer Gigantus V2: like the Dock, also in this case the mat is not essential, however we recommend it because recent generations of optical mice expect to find the mat and, with this , significantly improve performance.

The switches are optical, which means that every mouse click is 100% certain: optical technology, we recall, has migrated from keyboards and provides for the recognition of the non-physical click but, in fact, optical, with great advantages from the point of view of safety and speed.

With 20,000 DPI the new Razer Focus + optical sensor, the same as the Basilisk and Viper, offers the most advanced path recognition platform available on the market, with a tracking speed of 650 IPS.

The experience ends with the possibility of using the Synapse 3.0 drivers, really well made but unfortunately not available for our platform (but the mouse is also used very well on Mac, without customization).

Synapse allows you to manage every single aspect of the mouse, from lighting to the management of the keys (which can migrate from computer to computer, thanks to an integrated memory) and of course also battery management.

On this, on the page of the RAZER site there are no notations on the duration, but we have used it for two weeks without problems, with a residual charge of just under 50% always in Wi-Fi.

    Considerations

The design, the ergonomics, the precision of the optical chip, the possibility of being used without wire (but there is still a wire) and the indissoluble shape of a Razer mouse make this Razer DeathAdder V2 Pro a model of absolute prestige, able to rival what until now had been the top for the snake brand, the Basilisk Ultimate and, of course, also with any competing mouse.

Also because there are not many competing mice, features in hand: shame about the Synapse drivers, but on Mac it is still used very well, and offers, with the pad, absolute precision on any application, whether we are exploring the corners. The blinds of Life Is Strange both in the more frenetic League of legends (waiting for Fortnite to return to the world of the apple), whether we operate with Photoshop or Illustrator or Cinema 4D.

A version that pays tribute to its history and will delight those looking for a precise, very professional and extremely comfortable product.
