With the spread of the Apple Watch and the now universal wireless charging function of the iPhone, the accessories that allow you to charge both devices at the same time have multiplied. One of these is Anker Powerwave + a system in some respects quite original and certainly well engineered that performs this function and on which we have got our hands these days
Anker Powerwave + how it's done
Anker Powerwave + is easy to describe. It is a wireless charger for smartphones capable of providing up to 10W (even if iPhone absorbs a maximum of 7.5) which integrates a system to manage the recharge even Apple Watch. Like many other competitors, practically all of them does not contain the charging cable for Apple Watch but offers a system to attach the “tablet” that you find inside the smart watch package Apple. To put it into operation you will have to open it, insert the charger inside the ring and then, following the instructions, slide the cable around the platform which then closes completely. Finally you will have to connect the USB plug to the port that you always find inside the platform; the only precaution to note is that the cable that can be used is the 1 meter one found in the standard packages; excluding the two-meter and the 30-centimeter one. At that point you will have finished installing the system. You just have to connect (the excellent) Micro USB cable that you find in the package to the charger to finish the preliminary operations.

Anker Powerwave + how it works and usage impressions
The operation of Anker Powerwave + is very simple. Charging an iPhone (or any other phone with a wireless charging system) is done simply by placing the phone on the left side, where the platform for this purpose is located. The Apple Watch is recharged using the holder in which you will have stuck the charger and which when not in use can be folded up to disappear into the body of the device. A blue light, characteristic of most Anker chargers, will signal the start of charging. It should be noted that the platform also works to recharge the Airpods with a case compatible with wireless charging.
The system is intuitive and also well engineered . Great for those who want to get on their desk or in the bedroom, a comfortable and functional accessory capable of managing the charging of the two “Siamese brothers” of Apple: iPhone and Apple Watch.
The charging of Apple Watch takes place, of course, with the same timing that you could have without the platform, but with the advantage of having a support available that transforms Apple Watch into a bedside alarm, given the compatibility with the Nightstand mode. We carried out a test with both a 44mm and a 40mm Apple Watch and the activation of wireless charging was immediate, without any particular adjustments; you just have to take care to raise the support to the maximum until you hear a small click.
Anker Powerwave + also recharges the Airpods
Charging an iPhone with Anker Powerwave + is also perfectly intuitive. Once the phone is positioned in the correct position (the system has a single spiral and not two spirals like some products that allow greater freedom of positioning), you will see the classic lightning bolt appear with the battery that signals the start of charging. The speed is what you would expect from a wireless charger: slower than that via Lightning with a 2.4Ah charger, much slower than charging with a USB cable on Lighting and an 18W charger. In practical terms, an iPhone 11 Pro Max gains 6% charge every ten minutes; in fact, it will take about three hours to fully charge the largest of the iPhones. Being a charger for those in no hurry, typically for those who charge iPhone in the office or at night, we do not see any particular limitations in this aspect. After all, charging via wireless is even faster than what will happen with the Jurassic 1 Ah charger that Apple put in its packages until last year (and which is still today inside the iPhone XR and iPhone 11).
Conclusions
Anker Powerwave + is an interesting product for the Apple world. It combines in a single “package” both an iPhone charger and AirPods system to recharge Apple Watch. It is easy to assemble and easy to use and it is ergonomically designed flawlessly. Compared to other similar products, it also includes a valid charger of excellent quality and a cable of equally excellent quality in the package. Finally, it is also compact, light and easily transportable thanks to the ring that folds away. Impossible not to recommend the purchase in the face of completely similar competitors from major brands that offer more or less the same thing at a price three times higher (yes: we are talking about Belkin Powerhouse …).
Anker Powerwave + is on sale on Amazon at a price that at the time of writing is 45.99 euros
