Traveling abroad in the past meant carrying an adapter, today it also means carrying many devices that require a recharge for the internal battery and that must share the same adapter.
In order not to complicate life too much and reduce the stress of … the geek's suitcase, here is a solution: Maxcio Travel Adapter, an interesting product that promises to be a sort of Swiss army knife in the field of recharging devices being equipped not only with 4 USB ports but also a USB-C port
Maxcio Travel Adapter as it is made
Basically Maxcio Travel Adapter is a classic adapter for international sockets. In this “cube” of not exactly small size (like all competitors) there are three different retractable plugs: European with two poles (the one that works in all Italian sockets), British, American-Australian. On the back a series of slots allow in turn to connect all the corresponding plugs to the Maxcio.
Good quality plastic (94v0 PC with flame retardant) apart, we emphasize both CE, FC, ROHS certification, not totally discounted in Chinese sourced products and double 10A overload protection. To improve safety there is a fuse and also a spare fuse. Here too we are beyond the standard of these accessories.
USB charging
As mentioned differently from other similar adapters, we also have 4 USB ports and a Type-C port. We can therefore connect 5 different devices at the same time, even if it is not convenient. The intensity supplied is a total of 5.6A divided over the five ports, just over 1A for each port.
In practical terms, if we talk about iPhones, you can legitimately connect two of them obtaining the same performance as a normal USB charger (which usually reaches 2.4A) and you will still have a little “space” to recharge less pretentious devices, for example a selfie stick, earphones, etc.

The USB-C port
The USB-C port shares the 5.6A current of which it is Maxcio capacity but with an additional limit: it can supply a maximum of 3A which multiplied by 5V translates into a power of 15W.
This is a threshold below the theoretical maximum that is capable of absorbing one of the latest iPhones using a Lighting cable on USB-C, but higher than that of any USB charger. In practice, the accessory we tried in recent days, allows you to quickly recharge an iPhone 8, an iPhone X, an iPhone XS and an iPhone 11 and 11 Pro on paper. What it does not allow you to do is to assist a Mac.
How is it going
The test we have done has shown that the charging specifications are respected in practice. An iPhone 11 Pro was able to draw 5.2A from the USB-C port and 2.5A from the USB port. Trying to connect an iPhone to the USB-C port and an iPad to the USB port, we obtained 2.5A and 2.5A respectively.
We also tried to connect a MacBook 12 ″ retina to the USB-C port and Maxcio Travel Adapter was able to support it in operation even though it had almost zero charge. Like other 5A chargers on USB-C, we were able to slowly charge the Mac with the lid closed.
The adapter is protected by a fuse. Above also fits the spare fuse
Maxio as an international adapter
Maxcio Travel Adapter gives its maximum potential when also used as a charger, but the real “plus” is that it works both as a charger and as an adapter for international sockets. From this point of view it is necessary to take note of the “plate” data.
On the device we talk about 2300V at 230V (1100W at 110V) but on the Amazon website, where it is for sale, we talk about devices up to 1800W at 230V (880W at 110V); basically even remaining on this last and more prudent limit, Maxcio Travel Adapter is in practice also able to make you use a Phone or any small household appliance with high power absorption.
Consider that the 1800W can be distributed between an appliance or an accessory for travel and the charging of devices since the ports are placed in an easily accessible position and not in contrast with the plugs. In practical terms, while your wife dries her hair in a hotel in an exotic location, you recharge your iPhone.
Or while your husband charges the camera, you curl your hair. If you really want to exaggerate thanks to Maxcio Travel Adapter you could recharge 5 accessories plus others that you will connect to a charger that you are going to insert into the dorsal socket.

In conclusion
Maxcio Travel Adapter is an interesting product that is useful for all those who travel and need to reduce the confusion in their bag. Combines both an almost universal power adapter and a charger compatible with all major devices in one piece.
It also has an uncommon USB-C port capable of charging an iPhone or any latest generation mobile phone faster. The not very high output power that actually prevents recharging more than two smartphones is compensated by the fact that it is able to serve both purposes at the same time: adapter to use a small appliance such as a phone and charger.
Considering the very affordable price, 20.99 euros is the cost of a simple adapter for international plugs, this is a recommended product.
Maxcio Travel Adapter can be bought for 20.99 euros starting from here. But until 30 November the manufacturer, on the occasion of this review, offers you a discount of 5 euros . Just use the code YDXUU92C at check out.
