RAVPower FileHub 2019 is what is called a “multimedia all-rounder”, a memory that, based on streaming, allows you to expand the memory of iPhone, iPad and Android (and also of your computer) using an already existing wi-fi network in the environment or one created ad hoc.
Thanks to the USB ports and the SD reader, it allows you to use an incredibly versatile space to transfer movies, photos, music and various documents to be viewed alone or in company.
You can use it at home, in a hotel and even on the go as a source for music to listen to and movies to watch (obviously only on the passenger side) even when your device's memory is not sufficient to store all the data.

RAVPower FileHub 2019, the review
Like a battery, much more than a battery
RAVPower FileHub 2019 is small enough to carry in your Jeans pocket, but fits much better in a laptop backpack or suitcase, in the same place you put the spare battery.
In fact, the dimensions are not much larger than a medium-cutting battery: 11.3 x 7.7 cm at the base by 2.3 deep in a 198 grams porous black plastic parallelepiped.

Inside the box you will find RAVPower FileHub 2019, an instruction booklet (whose readability is really unlikely, so small it is, luckily you will find a copy in PDF on the official website) and a MicroUSB charging cable.
Warning: the RAVPower FileHub 2019 does not have an internal memory and, alone, is only able to manage a network, as we will see later, while for documents you need an external memory such as a disk or a USB-A key (up to 3TB ) or an SD memory (or microSD with adapter, up to 256 GB), to be purchased separately.
On the side, in addition to the USB-A port, there is a Micro-USB connector for charging and an Ethernet RJ45 connector for the network (not strictly necessary though).
Things to fix
From a hardware point of view we can immediately say that the RAVPower FileHub 2019 is very good, at times excellent: silent, small, very fast in all its parts (if used with fast memories though) and even when used as a battery it is not bad. (The 6700 mAh battery charges an iPhone completely, while for an iPad it only keeps it alive, without recharging it).
The configuration software, however, is another story: the official RAV FileHub App for iOS or Android (universal) can be definitely improved, especially in the settings and network management part, while from Desktop (via browser) it is drastically worse.
But we want to be clear in this sense: the Apps work, like the interface via the web, because the hardware responds well and all the tasks are performed in the best possible way, only that the operations that allow the customization of the network interfaces are unnecessarily complex, while on the Desktop side we have the same problems, but with a much more dated interface.
Things that the RAVPower does (and does not) FileHub 2019
The list of possible functions with the RAVPower FileHub 2019 is long enough and very interesting, so much so that it can become a nerve center for those who intend to operate alone or in a group while traveling.
As a router it allows you to create a 2.4 or 5 Ghz wireless network or subnet, sharing the internet signal from another wireless or wired network.
Once the network has been created (customizable, although some notions are necessary in this case) it allows multiple devices to access shared documents via the USB-A port (a key) or via an SD memory card, preferably fast.
Streaming a movie worked well, even in a test with three devices and three different movies (FullHD) in streaming simultaneously
Both from desktop browser and from mobile App it is possible to use streaming multimedia contents such as videos, photos (also in DNG format) or MP3.
The data management is very good, so much so that we have seen three MP4 movies at the same time (stored on the Kodak MicroSD), from iPhone, iPad and from an iMac. The mobile apps also show a good music player, with a vintage effect of the album cover turning, like on old vinyl records.
More than anything else both from mobile and from Desktop we have noticed a certain redundancy in the File Manager for the choice of data, with some imposition on the folders to use that we would have gladly saved ourselves, even if using the File Management function everything works very well.
On the front of the RAVPower FileHub 2019 there are some LED lights that indicate the status of the services: however, we would have appreciated a clearer reference to the status of the internal battery, which is the most important thing.

Considerations
If you have a fast SD card, like our Kodak MicroSD V30, and you are on the road, the RAVPower FileHub 2019 is probably the best friend you can have, especially considering the excellent price / performance ratio, the build quality and even despite the apps not are the best on the market.
Once you have carried out some tests and defined your customizations (especially for the network, perhaps sharing a 4G connection from a smartphone) the multimedia center works very well and data sharing is also excellent, in case that is also needed.
Good image management, streaming also supports some complex files such as DNGs
