QKZ DM6 review, the in-ear headphones with wire and angled jack plug

Home Reviews ,,,,, In the past few days GearBest sent us the QKZ DM6 earphones on trial, a product that promises good audio quality for an almost insignificant selling price. In fact, for less than 7 euros you get headphones with wire together with a rigid plastic case to protect them during transport and rubber grommets of different sizes to be able to easily adapt them to the different shapes of the ear cavity.

How they are made

First of all, the cable is very long: we are talking about 130 centimeters in total, of which 80 for the portion that goes from the audio plug to the bifurcation of the two earphones (the latter is 50 cm long). This means that it will not be difficult to be able to connect them to the smartphone tucked into the bag and listen to music or manage phone calls without too much difficulty.

Another peculiarity of the cable lies in the sheath that protects the wire: it is in fact made of transparent rubber, so it lets you see the internal metal filaments. In addition to representing a curious design choice, it will probably also be useful when it should be damaged as a result of numerous bending. At a glance it will be possible to trace the exact point and maybe, if you are practical enough, try to fix them.

The 3.5 mm audio jack plug is angled and gold-plated, therefore much more resistant to oxidation: it is surprising to find such a cure for a product that ultimately costs very little. The joints of the plug, earphones and crotch are made of rubber, very rigid and resistant to crushing but at the same time flexible enough to be able to follow the cable in its movements without breaking it.

Along the cable of the right earphone (the latter recognizable by the red circle, the left is circled in blue) there is a black satin plastic clip on which the hole for the microphone is recessed on one side and the multifunction button (marked by icon of a telephone handset) from the other.

The case of the earphones is made of metal, cylindrical in shape and characterized largely by a finish with a diamond pattern in relief that ensures an easy grip even with sweaty fingers. The driver cover, on the other hand, is made of red plastic. Regardless of whether you like the design or not, it is certain that the durability of these headphones is promised by all these precautions that are impossible to find in headphones that normally cost twice as much.

How are they doing

The audio quality is good overall. It does not push bass and any other frequency, offering rather flat type audio reproduction. Excellent thing as it leaves the user the complete customization of the equalization through the settings of the media player or the app installed on the smartphone to which the earphones are connected.

The telephone part works well, the microphone does its duty and the angled jack plug is very convenient with the smartphone, as it allows us to slip it safely into your pocket without the risk of involuntarily bending the cable.

However, this feature must be considered according to the devices with which you intend to use the earphones because the angled system is not always compatible with audio sockets close to buttons or positioned in awkward or difficult to reach recesses.

Conclusions

If the maximum budget is 10 euros, you will hardly find better at these figures. The QKZ DM6 earphones are treated in every aspect, from the materials to the choice of gold-plated the plug or to give it an angled shape. In this sense, the rubber joints and the metal covers of the earphones are also excellent.

For audio quality they are no different from other earphones that are positioned in this price range: the packaging bears the Hi-Res Audio brand, but apart from compatibility with this type of format, it is difficult for an audiophile to invest hundreds of euros in compatible players. Hi-Res Audio and then nullify the entire expense with a pair of headphones which, although constructively excellent, are still earphones with 10 euro audio quality.

If interested, you can find them for sale on GearBest at 7 euros to which a few cents must be added for shipping costs.
