Nilox Doc +, the review
As before, more than before
When Nilox Doc + arrives it is heavy, very heavy, and taken out of the box you need to put it on the ground immediately, as handling it is difficult. Aesthetically it is a kind of skate on two wheels, positioned parallel to the axis of movement, which balance the user through a series of sensors.
Inside it houses a battery that allows you to reach a cruising speed of 10 Km / h for a duration of 12 Km with a single recharge.
Our brave model, who after about twenty minutes was already at ease on Nilox Doc +: and who takes it off now?
After having recharged it correctly and completely via the power supply in the box (which shows a green or red light indicating the status of the recharge), Nilox Doc + is ready to transport you on the wings of speed in an emphasis of “Back to the future” which we hope many will remember.
Once turned on via the side button, the new Doc + immediately shows the first novelty compared to the first Doc model: if in the first version climbing was a small undertaking, especially at the beginning, now it is much easier because the hoverboard is in horizontal position with both pedals and makes getting on very easy, thanks to the new self-balancing technology.

The Hoverboard SUV
Although technically the shape of the new Nilox Doc + is identical to the first Doc, aesthetically the new wheels, larger and with a more marked tank immediately catch the eye, as if it were an SUV for Hoverboards.
The new wheels offer greater grip even on unpaved or non-straight roads, but we emphasize that a more pronounced imperfection on only one side is enough to draw attention.
The new wheels and the new sensors have allowed us to be less picky on the road, but it is clear that Nilox Doc + is designed for paved roads, smooth floors or beaten terrains, where it gives its best.
The maximum speed of 10 Km / h is optimal, more would be really dangerous because we remember it is all a question of balance. In fact, Nilox Doc + emits a series of warning sounds when approaching the peak speed that it is impossible to ignore.
You drive with instinct
During the test we let friends and colleagues get on the small hoverboard: we can say that thanks to the new sensors the time needed to become independent while driving has decreased, even if it remains subjective.
For children under fifteen, an hour is enough, for those over fifty, twice as much and sometimes even more, but basically after an afternoon of rehearsals, with some stumbling blocks but it's nothing special, it can be mastered with confidence.
More than anything else it is difficult to explain how you drive, because you rely on instinct: the two parts wind in the center and the direction is given by the movement of the feet in the two parts, which tilt forward or backward on the right or left side. to turn, accelerate or reverse.
To help everything just under your feet, on the front, there are two small LED lights, which illuminate the road just in front of the Doc +, but above all make it visible at night.
Drive carefully and lights on even during the day
Nilox DOC + is a good product: fun, unusual, innovative and hi-tech enough, better than many products that are seen around for the profuse technology and well balanced in consumption and safety.
Use it quietly at home or in the courtyard but pay some extra attention on public roads, because the Italian legislation is not yet ready for this type of electronic movement.
