However, alternatives are not lacking, and TP-Link also presented an essential proposal with the Neffos C7, which even in the modest price does not make you give up anything. Can you do it?
Aesthetics
Neffos C7 is a fairly standard smartphone from all points of view, starting with that of design. By “standard”, of course, we do not mean a negative meaning of the term, but only that it does not present particular points of surprise. From an aesthetic point of view, Neffos C7 is not among the most original, even if in fact it detaches itself from today's fashion of the 18: 9 form factor, to return instead to the standard “not elongated” one. It offers a 5.5-inch panel, not limited by a virtual keypad: Neffos C7 adopts a classic physical keypad, unfortunately not backlit, placed outside the screen.
This is a solution, which is not preferable for everyone, but is still intelligent in the opinion of the writer: Neffos C7 must represent an economic alternative to other competing smartphones, and with features like these it can shift the balance of choice. of the user. Having a screen not limited by virtual keys is, for many, a real strength. Too bad that the keys are not backlit, so not visible in the dark.
Although the generous dimensions of the display, and of the entire body (154.5mm x 76.96mm x 7.85mm), it holds well in the hand and also looks much lighter than what you read on paper. The 157 grams, in fact, seem to vanish in the hand. The classic fingerprint reader is positioned on the back, not the fastest on the square (it loses comparison with the low-end Honor and Huawei ones), but still accurate and reliable, usable in everyday use without any problem.
Technical features
Coming to the data sheet of the terminal, Neffos C7 offers a 5.5-inch screen, IPS 16: 9 with HD resolution (720 x 1,280 pixels) and 267 PPI. The CPU is the MediaTek MT6750 (4 Cortex-A53 at 1.5 GHz + 4 Cortex-A53 at 1.0 GHz), supported by 2 GB of RAM, while the autonomy is entrusted to a 3060 mAh and the internal storage to a 16 GB memory, expandable via microSD up to 128 GB. The rear camera is 13 MP with flash and PDAF, the front one is 8 MP. Connectivity entrusted to 4G LTE Cat4 support, WiFi 802.11 b / g / n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS / A-GPS, GLONASS, and there is also the Dual SIM housing, and the headphone jack.
Although the features on paper of the display are entry level, far from the standards of the current top of the range, we were absolutely surprised by the quality of the particularly deep blacks, which remain so even when tilting the display. We would have expected from a similar display less punchy blacks and, above all, tending to very strong variations when tilting the display. Really impressive.
Beyond this detail that amazed us, the display is obviously far from the cleanliness and sharpness of the standard reached by the current top of the range. The only HD resolution is perceived, especially if you have had a higher-end terminal in your hand for a long time. However, it is an absolutely good panel for the price of the terminal, with bright colors, and a very high brightness.
In everyday use Neffos C7 is not the fastest terminal on the square, and any action needs that extra moment in loading. In any case, the device allows you to fully enjoy the Android ecosystem, being able to surf the net, receive emails, download and run practically any app, text, browse social networks and so on. Speaking of surfing the net, also in this case a very pleasant surprise: the fluidity of scrolling and pinch out / in are always absolutely fluid even on the heaviest pages. Also in this case, some lag could be expected from a low-end terminal, and instead, one more point for Neffos C7.
Multimedia
For photo lovers, this Neffos C7 offers a single camera configuration on the back, 13 MP, with an 8 MP on the front. Beyond the numbers, the terminal allows you to take sufficient photos, in full line with the price of the smartphone. We have noticed that the shots can be improved by taking advantage of the Professional mode. In some cases, for example, while a normal shot proposed shades of yellow, with some manual correction, especially to white, the photo seemed considerably better, as can be seen in the gallery below.

Neffos C7 arrives with Android 7.0 on board. It may seem like outdated software, but on a low cost terminal it is the norm. Nonetheless, Neffos C7 arrived with the security patches updated in March 2018, and the Neffos UI, manufacturer customization, however well optimized. It almost looks like a stock Android, but with some slight graphical changes, rather pleasant and functional. For example, the presence of themes, some of which are truly valid, with a modern and minimal style.

Conclusions
It has a list price of 159 euros, absolutely in line with what it offers. Design not original, but cured, average performance for the price range, and pleasant multimedia department. A low cost smartphone that can be used, essential and functional, which naturally has to accept some compromises: in everyday life it is used well, not among the fastest oci on the panorama, but without any critical problem.
