Home Reviews ,,,,,It is not the first backpack that we try in the editorial office, but it is among those that are most appreciated by our audience: the Omorc backpack can contain a laptop with a display up to 15.6 inches and has many pockets to carry and keep various objects separate. in addition to providing a convenient USB port to recharge smartphones and other accessories on the go, without having to open the backpack.

Of this backpack the quality of the materials is first of all striking: it is made entirely of very sturdy fabric and, according to the manufacturer, water repellent, so it can be carried on the shoulder in case of sudden rain and be sure that the contents are not damaged. To the touch it gives the impression of being very solid and tear-resistant, able to easily withstand a full load also due to the shoulder straps which, unlike other backpacks in the same price range, are very robust and heavily padded.
We also thought the hinges were excellent, with double buckle and anti-tear type, with a fabric cover that protects it when closed. It is not anti-theft type, it does not lock if you try to open it without pulling one of the two buckles: in fact, just insert your finger in one of the openings to be able to open the relative pocket effortlessly. The upper handle is also very good, rigid and full-bodied, making it easier to grip and allowing you to carry the backpack like a suitcase even when it contains several kilos of equipment.
The pockets
Although it is aesthetically very thin, there is room to really put everything in it. In addition to being well distributed, there are pockets of all sizes and placed in the right places. Specifically, we have two main pockets: the one closest to the back can hold a laptop. The manufacturer says a maximum of 15.6 inches but we believe there is room for one with a slightly larger screen as well, as our 15 '' MacBook Pro fits in very well and has a lot of space left over both top and sides.
The other pocket, which we could define as the main pocket, is instead on the opposite side of the handle and inside it has room for many other objects. On one of the two sides there are in fact three other pockets that allow you to better distribute the contents. For example, we often use one of these pockets to keep a Moleskine close at hand, in the other we put a compact camera (in the photo we put the wallet because we were using the camera to take the pictures). The larger one can be used to hold a tablet, or a pair of sunglasses or whatever. There is also plenty of space for other items, or for a sweatshirt or a half-liter bottle of water.
Two other external pockets complete the subdivision of the spaces: one, with side opening, has enough space for a magazine, the other, with top access, is smaller and can be used for items to always have at hand. Speaking of size, it's a little bigger than a Kindle.
The “hi-tech” part
One of the most popular features that actually distinguish this backpack is the external USB socket. On the left side there is practically a plastic cylinder at the base of which a USB-A port is recessed (the choice of facing downwards protects it from water and dust). This socket is connected to a cable about 30 centimeters long that comes out on the side edge of the main pocket: at the end we find a USB-A plug that can (indeed, should) be connected to a power bank, in order to take advantage of the energy stored by the battery to recharge mobile devices without having to remove it from the backpack.
How is it going
We happily replaced the old backpack with this one from Omorc for a whole week on the commute, as well as for a few sporadic evening outings during which we needed to have the computer with us. In its favor we point out the presence of a very soft backrest, padded to the right point and with a perforated cover that in summer should ensure good breathability. If the time of year did not allow us to evaluate this feature, we can however say that comfort is assured: even with the MacBook on the back, the backpack is not too rigid because alongside it there is a very soft backrest and with a good padding, which we find albeit less consistently on the shoulder straps.
The length adjustment straps of the latter are also excellent: just pull them to tighten them at the shoulders or lift the plastic clip to loosen them, thus being able to slip it on and remove it from the shoulders even when wearing a winter coat. It adjusts quickly and puts it on just as easily.
We also liked the external USB socket very much. It took us a few days to actually remember his presence, which proved essential on more than one occasion: for example, he allowed us to recharge the tablet while we were using it as a map to get around the city, while another time we made it possible to recharge the digital camera on the fly without having to give up taking pictures.
