Home CasaVerdeSmart ,,,,, In recent weeks we have tried Avantree Eris, a pair of earphones that differ from many others mainly for the conformation of the cable, spring, capable of extending several meters. This feature not only makes them easy to transport but makes them comfortable and versatile in everyday use, ranging from listening to music at home or in the gym to making phone calls in the city.
How they are made
They are earphones with 3.5mm jack plug, therefore compatible with almost all smartphones and multimedia devices currently on the market. They are sold together with a carrying bag and some interchangeable rubber pads of different sizes (S, M, L).
They are half in glossy black plastic: the other half is in metal, including the mesh that protects the drivers of each earphone. As mentioned, the peculiarity of these headphones lies in the cable, thin and extensible thanks to the spring system with which it is made. In a relaxed position the headphones are as long as many others (about 65 cm), but if you stretch you can even exceed 4 meters of total cable: over 2m for the central part, just over 1.2m, however, for each earphone.
The jack plug is very small and perfectly compatible with Apple's Lightning adapter, to which we accompanied the headphones during tests with the iPhone 7.
How are they doing
The audio quality is very good. They reproduce all frequencies very well, especially the high ones. The bass is sufficiently present in tracks like Bass Can You Hear Me where the bass line predominates over the rest, while they have not thrilled us in other situations where the low frequencies do not play a predominant role.
Instead, they surprised us in their use during phone calls. The audio is in fact always clear and crystalline, and even our interlocutor told us that he heard our voice very well, even during a journey by car at 110 km / h with the windows open and with the consequent rustle of the air. disturb communication.
Convenient and comfortable as few
What made us cry for a miracle instead is the convenience compared to any other wired headset. The spring system, let's be honest, at first glance we were not particularly impressed, both because the cable is visually thicker than others, and because letting them wander in a bag without putting them back in the bag is not difficult to find them completely intertwined. But if you are willing to agree to accompany them with the bag supplied, then the spring cable can make a real difference for several reasons.
First of all, you can lend a headset to a friend to share music without having to stick together side by side (in a car, for example, everyone can sit comfortably on their seat). But they are also a valid solution for those who prefer wired headphones for sports activities, perhaps because they train with an older generation MP3 player that does not offer Bluetooth technology.
In one of our tests we tried to wear the headphones “backwards”, ie by letting the cable go down behind the back (then putting the iPhone in a pouch) and locking each earphone in a better way by passing the cable behind the ears. Well, the spring system combined with the high length of the cable mean that you can move freely and without feeling restricted in the movements by a cable that could get caught somewhere.
From this point of view, the clip to lock the cable to the collar or in a corner of the shirt is appreciated: in addition to better distributing the weight of the cable, it creates a fixed point from which the various portions of the cable will extend during the movements.
Conclusions
Avantree Eris are inexpensive wired headphones that should be considered for two reasons. First of all they are much more comfortable during sports activities, moreover they are more functional and versatile when you have to share listening to music with another person.
