How it is made
The lamp (weight 100g, diameter 8.5cm, thickness 4.3cm approximately) has the shape of a sphere perfectly cut in half. On the “flat” part there are two sensors: one detects the ambient light and, at dusk, collaborates with the second dedicated to the detection of movements to automatically turn on the 5 built-in LEDs as soon as it recognizes one within 4 meters away (has a viewing angle of 150 degrees ). The lamp is completely made of plastic and the rear shell can possibly be unscrewed to reveal a compartment dedicated to the supplementary power supply . As you can see by unscrewing the shell, the latter is completely covered by a metal plate that collaborates with the magnet recessed inside the base to which the lamp is attached: the force of attraction is such as to support it without any effort and, to its particular shape allows to tilt the light beam by 45 degrees in all directions.
The magnetic base is also composed of two parts: with one rotation it is in fact possible to release the rear plate on which there are three holes. These can be used to fix the plate to the wall through the three screws and as many plugs included in the package, while if you decide to hook it to wooden surfaces (perhaps the inside a cabinet) or other material, you can simply rely on the adhesive disk included in the purchase.
How does it work
Once the lamp is positioned in the most congenial point, all that remains is to turn it on if you want to use it temporarily as a continuous light or set the automatic mode to let it turn on automatically only when it is needed. In this mode, as soon as it detects a minimum movement, it turns on and stays on until it recognizes no more movements within a window of 30 seconds .
Due to its particular shape it can be easily placed inside wardrobes and drawers or along a corridor or wherever it is considered appropriate. Thanks to the possibility of directing the light beam, you can also create particular points of light upwards or downwards, and when you need an emergency torch, just take it in your hand and detach it from the magnetic base, a necessary operation. even when the battery needs to be recharged.
Conclusions
Its small size and ease of use (it attaches and detaches from the base in a moment) make this lamp very convenient at home to illuminate small dark areas, perhaps to light up when a person passes by, for example in night assaults on the fridge. It also makes an appearance in the wardrobe, to illuminate clothes even in the dark as soon as the doors are opened. The light is very cold, around 5-6000K of color temperature and even at maximum power it is sufficient to create just a light point in the corridor or to illuminate the interior of a piece of furniture.
