Home Hi-Tech Audio / Video / TV / Streaming ,,,, dav, There are so many bluetooth audio devices available on the net, and often choosing one or the other is no small feat. Very similar to each other, even from the point of view of audio quality, to tip the scales for one or the other example could be the build quality and design. These portable speakers, in fact, are often considered a piece of furniture, able to embellish their technological corner. The 20W EasyAcc speaker under test, from an aesthetic point of view, is truly unrivaled. The dimensions are particularly small, equal to 20 x 6 x 6.4 cm: a good compromise, which makes the device portable, without sacrificing the power of 20W.
Upon opening the cardboard package, standard for the content that has only a microUSB cable for charging and a small manual, the case immediately gives a feeling of robustness. It is well built, and weighs around 650 grams. Solid in appearance, it does not show any creaking to the touch, and even the materials used return a pleasant sensation when you pick it up. The upper part is made of satin plastic, which almost gives the effect of a fake wood. It is in this part that the control panel is embedded, to pause / play the music, increase / decrease the volume, go to the next / previous track and answer incoming calls on a smartphone.
On the four sides, however, there is the ring nut, which in the first instance would suggest speakers arranged on all sides. This is not the case, since the sound only comes out from the front. In any case, the design of this EasyAcc speaker is really sophisticated, almost not one would expect it from a low cost peripheral, in this price range. Placed in any corner of the house, on a desk, it looks good and stands out. A little inconvenient to reach, probably due to its tiny size, is the power button, located on the back, next to the charging socket and the AUX input. Even in this case, however, the small size of the buttons contributes to the design of the speaker, which is truly impeccable.
How it sounds
Beyond the external appearance, however, an essential feature for such a device is the audio quality. The EasyAcc peripheral also offers satisfactions from this point of view, while remembering that it is a low-mid-range speaker. The volume isn't particularly loud when compared to even 10W speakers, but the sound is clean, distortion-free and deep in many situations. The bass is present, well calibrated, not particularly important, but appreciable. Our tests, both when playing videos from YouTube and when listening to Spotify, returned good results.
The sound is full-bodied and deep, without rustling, and whatever the musical genre it is really appreciable. The singers' voice is always clear, and manages to emerge from the background instrumentation. In short, unlike other low cost speakers, the sound is not muffled at all, always faithful and clean. It loses a bit in conversation, where the interlocutor's voice is less crystal clear than when playing music, but the hands-free also works well, thanks to the dedicated answer key, which makes it easy to start a conversation.
The autonomy is above average and thanks to the 4000 mAh of which the integrated battery is equipped, it is easy to realistically approach 10 hours of playback, even if with volumes not at maximum. Always punctual and immediate pairing with external devices, such as smartphones and tablets, thanks to bluetooth 4.0. The Mac also recognizes the speaker immediately and connects to it in a few moments.
Conclusions
An elegant speaker, which aesthetically has nothing to envy to other premium peripherals. The audio quality is absolutely in line with the price, with a volume not particularly high, but always clean and faithful. Excellent autonomy and the hands-free function, thanks to the integrated microphone, which makes EasyAcc a valid ally on the desk, in the office or even at home, to be combined with a Mac.
