Home Reviews ,,,,, A wireless LED lamp. It is Aukey LT-ST5, a solution that our editorial staff has had the opportunity to thoroughly test in recent weeks, particularly appreciating it in the movements between one house and another, where the bare minimum is always on our shoulders. In this sense, this product is ideal as it has no power cable, reducing the bulk but above all proving to be more than versatile as it can be easily positioned in any room of the house, even in a car or train, as long as there is a stable surface on which to place it.
This lamp measures 45.5 x 11.4 x 10 centimeters and weighs around 420 grams, it is in fact very compact especially when closed, reminiscent of a hair straightener. The whole body is made of plastic with the exception of the flat side that covers the upper face of the lamp, covered by a sheet of cold aluminum.
The structure is composed of only two parts joined by a hinge system that guarantees a opening of 180 degrees , being able to practically position the lighting even vertically, for example directing it towards a wall for a softer light. We actually appreciated this mode very much when used in the bedroom as a position light before going to bed, creating a light point above the headboard of the bed.
As for the lighting, the lamp is characterized by three rows of LEDs, a central one, made up of 6 warm light LEDs, and two rows on the sides each made up of 6 cold light LEDs, for a total of 18 LEDs. .
Ignition is regulated by a touch sensor built into the base. During the tests he proved to be rather sensitive, perhaps too much, perceiving every slightest touch – even of an elbow under the sweater – as a green light for the light to be turned on. A big problem especially during transport, when maybe you put it in your backpack and rummage inside it looking for something else, forcing us to put it in the sales package rather than letting it roam freely in the main pocket of the bag.
The single touch turns on the light at minimum intensity, a comfortable and unobtrusive mode especially in the bedroom. A second touch increases the light intensity, good enough to illuminate the bedside table surface, while a third touch brings it to its maximum intensity, perfect for reading an evening book.
With one prolonged touch a different combination of LED lights is activated. It starts from the single central LED strip, with warm light (2900K), to the activation of the two lateral LED strips with cold light (5200K), up to the third and last mode that turns on all three LED strips, combining both the colors for a rather neutral final lighting, halfway between cold and warm light, equal to about 4100K.
The three different colors are well suited to the main uses of the lamp, which can range from studying on the desk or on the train to reading a recipe in the kitchen, a book in the bedroom or on the sofa in the living room, to use as a light. of company before falling asleep.
The feature we liked most of all is the wireless use thanks to the built-in battery . The writer occasionally lives in an apartment with furniture reduced to a minimum, so much so that there are no lamps in the living room or in the bedroom. Right here Aukey LT-ST5 proved to be fundamental as with a single lamp we have solved all the problems, including those of the possible connection of a common type lamp to the power socket which, in both rooms, is in a poor position. easy.

Aside from that, the freedom afforded by the battery actually allows you to use it occasionally anywhere else in your home, garage or office as well, by placing it temporarily on a countertop, or by creating a secondary study area on a long desk during group evening study.
It consumes only 4W, for a final autonomy of about 5 hours at maximum intensity with all three LED light strips on. Charging takes place rather slowly – about two and a half hours – as the microUSB socket recessed on one side of the lamp absorbs a maximum of 1A. A point in favor goes right to the door as it allows you to recharge the lamp with any cable present in the house, connecting it to a computer or even to an emergency battery to extend its life while continuing to benefit from the absence of cables. Instead, the position could be improved: you could perhaps choose a lower area, on the back, thus making it less visible and cumbersome.
Conclusions
Why should you choose Aukey LT-ST5? For the built-in battery. It is true that it is not the only one on the market, but for its shape and compactness it is ideal for those who always want to have one in their backpack, especially if they often move between office and apartment. It is equally convenient also at home to temporarily illuminate any work surface or in the bedroom, orienting it towards the wall, to create a light point.
