Instagram is preparing to add a new function to its Stories : this is the automatic translation of the texts on the video when a language other than the one set as default is recognized.
This function had already been anticipated months ago by the leaker Alessandro Paluzzi on his Twitter profile, but only now has the company made official the everything. The operation is very simple: when a different language is recognized, the button View translation will be shown at the top of the Story. Once clicked, the text will be translated and a screen will appear with the translation .
Instagram claims that the new translation feature currently supports over 90 languages and is in rollout these days globally . Furthermore, the company has stated that “the translations of the audio will not arrive for the moment” , so it is reasonable to expect that this aspect is also being worked on and that this feature could arrive later .
