Corning announced that it is bringing its super tough glass protection to smartphone cameras as well. The new products are nicknamed Gorilla Glass with DX and Gorilla Glass with DX +.
Many of the best Android smartphones are unfortunately equipped large camera bumps, which can often put more pressure on the lens cap, making them more susceptible to scratches when placed on a surface. Corning says the durability of its new Gorilla Glass with DX will be compatible with sapphire glass, which is used as a lens cover on devices like the iPhone 12.
We may not have to wait long to see the first smartphones with the new Gorilla Glass camera protector. In fact, the company claims that Samsung will be the first to launch products with the new lens caps, although it has not specified which models.
