Apple gets its hands on Safari: revamped UI and new tab organization

Apple has decided that the time has come to give a overhaul to the graphical interface of its Safari browser . For the new operating systems of the Cupertino company, both mobile and desktop , the Safari UI will be more compact , and will also allow for better organization of multiple tabs . In this sense, a new feature called “Tab Groups” will also be added, which should group the tabs as it happens for example on Google Chrome.

On both macOS and iOS , a new design determines the positioning of the active tabs in front and in the center , while on iPadOS tabs and tab groups work just like on Mac, thanks to instant synchronization between devices . In the browser version for iPhone, a new bar containing the tabs will appear at the bottom of the screen, and with a touch it will be possible to scroll between them or expand them upwards in a grid view .

Finally, the new extensions for iPhone and iPad also add native functionality of Apple's web browser, and through code shared with existing Safari web extensions it will be easier for developers create new ones .
