From Friday you can also send direct messages on Instagram from a browser

From today it is possible to send direct messages on Instagram also on browsers and not only using the app as has happened so far. The possibility, which Instagram has been testing since January among some user groups, came into use around the world at 4pm on Friday Italian time, and will allow messages to be exchanged much more easily and quickly. Instagram Direct, the system for sending photos and videos privately, was born in 2013 and is still the simplest way to communicate privately on the platform.

The change responds to the intent of Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook who has also owned Instagram since 2012, to transform it into a “communications platform focused on privacy”. Zuckerberg said he wants to allow Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram users to message each other regardless of which platform they are using.
