After having set itself the goal of promoting a just and healthy relationship between families and technology, Google has continued undaunted to work on this line, trying to offer, especially to parents, tools and means to be able to control and manage the Internet experience of their children. Now the Mountain View behemoth is introducing families.google , a website with resources that help families as younger members start interfacing with technology, and some updates to Family Link .
The website offers detailed guides to help you learn the best way to support and facilitate children's use of technology. Beyond the product overviews for children and families, users can also keep up to date with the latest apps and services, while also finding information on Parental Controls.
Family Link instead is the app designed to regulate the digital life of your children and to control them during their activities on the Web, and now thanks to the update Parents will be able to encourage children and teenagers to use approved apps by designating them as “always allowed” so they can spend more time in front of the screen even if the screen has expired. In addition, it will also be possible to view the details added to the daily, weekly and monthly activity reports, in order to have a complete overview of the time spent by the young person on an app.
Moving on, the Recommended Apps tab now includes suggestions from a catalog of thousands of teacher-approved Google Play apps for kids under 13 in the United States. Finally, the company understood that it is easier for a parent to manage Parental Control from the child's device . Therefore, it has been made possible to set the time limits of the screen directly from the latter.
The last note in the post published on the company's blog concerns the work that Google is carrying out with Headspace to create content that helps families to practice mindfulness and well-being. In fact, a new episode of the Headspace Breathers series will be released over the course of the next month on YouTube and YouTube Kids.
Everything described so far will be available to users starting from the next weeks .
