Sportswear and accessories company Under Armor has announced that it has stolen 150 million accounts linked to its subsidiary MyFitnessPal which runs a site and application to track your physical activity and diet. Among the stolen information are the names of users, their emails and data related to passwords (encrypted, therefore difficult to use), but not information on credit card numbers or other sensitive data. Under Armor said it learned of the security breach last week, only to discover that it suffered data theft in February. The company is working with the US authorities and in the meantime is alerting all affected users, who are advised to change their passwords. MyFitnessPal was acquired by Under Armor in 2015 for $ 475 million, when it had approximately 80 million subscribers. Since then the service has grown rapidly, also thanks to the fact that it is compatible with most devices for detecting physical activity.
